The Oakland Athletics have clawed and scratched their way back into first place in the AL West as they beat the 'Stros 7-5 and the Rangers lose to the Halos. Tonight's A's "W" was sponsored by the 2-5 Hitters as they did major damage to 'Stros Pitching on Friday Night. Athletics Hot Corner Josh Donaldson led the A's Hit Parade going 3 for 5 with a two-run HR and scoring three runs and knocking in two. Shortstop Jed Lowrie also knocked in two runs as the A's are making another September Run and the Rangers have to mindful of that but at the same time taking care of their business.

A's Starter AJ Griffin didn't have one of his best outings but it was good enough to get him win #13 on the season. Griff six innings and allowed four runs on seven hits as he walked one and struck out some nine 'Stros Hitters. 'Stros LHP Dallas Keuchel was chased in the 4th frame after getting hit with a five spot and allowing ten hits. With the "W" the A's move into sole possession of first in the AL West by 1/2 game over the Rangers. The 'Stros are building as they are in the basement in the AL West from April. Speaking of basement the 'Stros are 47-94 on the 2013 campaign..ouch!
