The Texas Rangers had everything going early in Orange County, California versus their old mate Angels LHP CJ Wilson as the Rangers jumped on him early on a Jose Rios Solo Shot in the 2nd and a two-run 3rd frame. The Halos then comeback in the bottom half of the 4th putting up a crooked five as Halos Star OF Mike Trumbo did most of that damage with a three-run bomb off Rangers Starter Matt Garza.
The Rangers added one more run for Wilson in the 5th as the Rangers add a run in the 7th and 9th but it was too late as they lose 6-5. The Halos Wilson went 6 2/3 innings allowing four runs on seven hits as two of those seven hits wee bombs as Rangers SS Elvus Andrus also hit a Solo Bomb. The Rangers just needed a better effort from the bump as Garza just didn't bring his A-Game. Garza allowed six runs on nine hits through seven as he struck out four and didn't walk one Halos Hitter.
Now with the loss the Rangers fall a 1/2 game out of the AL West lead as the Oakland Athletics lead. The Rangers do fall into that dreaded AL Wild Card Race as the #1 seed with a three game lead on the #2 Rays. The Halos are running on pride and that huge payroll...and of course the Rally Monkey when he feels the need.
