The Kansas City Royals made a huge statement on Friday Night that the AL Wild Card will have a Royal Blue influence one way or another. The Rangers and Royals go tooth and nail on Friday Night only to see the Royals come out on top 2-1 as they get a run in the bottom of the 8th.

Both Pitchers pitched well enough to win as Rangers Youngster Martin Perez went 5 2/3 innings giving up just one run on seven hits as he walked four and struck out three. The Royals Starter Ervin Santana was dealing as he went 7 1/3 innings giving up just one run on five hits as he gave out one free pass and struck out four. The Royals now stay close to the Wild Card Race just 2.5 games back. The Rangers now fall behind the pack as the Tribe moves into the #2 slot with Texas falling to the #3 slot.
