I told people last year after seeing him play in a few HS games and then at the McDonald's All-American Classic in Chicago. Duke's Austin Rivers got a lot of the hype but breaking him and St. Louis Product Bradley Beal down wasn't even close.
Duke's Combo G Austin Rivers doesn't have a position that defines him like Beal. Bradley is a True Big Guard, Shooting Guard, Sniper. The BLUEDUDE compares Beal to part Sugar Ray (the C's Ray Allen), part Eric Gordon (Hornets), and part Allan Houston (former Knicks Sniper).
He has excellent range, very good hands, very strong frame, explosive, has to use the bounce more, fundamentally sound shooting form, and a pretty good defender to boot.
In high school at Chaminade Prepatory (the same HS that produced now WARRIORS PF and former Gator David Lee) in St. Louis he was a 30 point per game scorer and a dominant 2-3 as he was ranked in the Top 10 School Boy Hoopers such as UK's Anthony Davis, Marquis Teague, and Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, Duke's Austin Rivers, UNC's James McAdoo, Oklahoma State's LeBryan Nash, and Memphis' Adonis Thomas among others.
Beal was the best high School scorer in that group and the best shooter. It doesn't surprise me that he enters the the 2012 NBA Draft as I have been saying he was the Top College Sniper this past season.
A food for thought....Austin Rivers was orally committed to the Gators from his Sophomore to junior Year in HS as his older sister, Callie, was a Volleyball player at Florida. Just think if BILLY D would have had Rivers to go with Beal and move Kenny Boynton to Point with Ervin Walker....UK would have had more to contend with and might have met the Gators in the National Championship game.
Look for the WIZARDS or even the T'WOLVES to make a play on Beal as he has company in UK's Michael Kidd-Gilchrist.....that my friends is a tough call...no doubt.
