Did you ever think OAK HILL Academy Virginia had an EQUAL....YES they did...FLINT HILL PREP Academy Virginia and Coach Stu VETTER in the 80s.

Everyone and their mama knows about the OAK HILL Academy Virginia Basketball Program. But have you ever though once if there was a rival that equaled the WARRIORS at anytime in their illustrious run. There is one and they have fallen off the National High School Basketball scene in the last 20 or so years.

Meet the FLINT HILL Prep Virginia in Fairfax V A and when I say they were Oak Hill's equal they were a juggernaut in the 1980's. They had the cream of the crop just like OAK HILL had it.

The HUSKIES had BIG TIME Talent and most notably guys like this:

Dennis "3D" SCOTT...Naismith National HS Player of the YEAR with a class loaded with the likes of Larry JOHNSON Dallas TX SKYLINE HS, Mark MACON Saginaw Michigan BUENA VISTA HS, and Marcus LIBERTY of then Famed Chicago ILLINOIS KING HS. Scott went on to play for ACC Legend Bobby CREMINS and the RAMBLIN' WRECK.

George LYNCH and Aaron BAIN.....the magnificent forward tandem that led was the 1st DUO to be named BIG MAC's ever in the 1989 class with the likes of Jim JACKSON Toledo Ohio MACOMBER-WHITNEY, Douglas EDWARDS Miami FL SENIOR HS, and Kenny ANDERSON Jamaica/Queens NY ARCH BISHOP MALLOY HS and the great Jack CURRAN. LYNCH took his talents to Dean SMITH and CHAPEL HILL NC  and won a CHIP in 1993 vs the FAB FIVE and C-WEBB.

BAIN was solid as he went to VILLANOVA and was a solid fixture in 'NOVA's BIG EAST Program. And just if you though FLINT HILL PREP was Joe BUDDEN....One and Done with .5 a mic. The HUSKIES went some 377 - 53 from 1975 - 1990.

Not to mention VETTER also coached one PG Randolph CHILDRESS of WAKE FOREST Demon Deacons and his teammate in COLLEGE doing with with CHILDRESS.....Tim DINCAN.

The Director of FLINT HILL was now JORDAN BRAND Endorser and MARYLAND and National HS Powerhouse...Rockville, Maryland's MONTROSE CHRISTIAN's Stu VETTER.  VETTER has amassed a winning percentage at the scholastic level only matched by some of the best in the BIZ like Memphis TN FAIRLEY HS's Sylvester FORD SR. and Morgan WOOTEN of DeMATHA Catholic in Hyattsville, MD.

The last BIG TIME Ballers VETTER coached was a Top 50 National Duo of OK City's @kdTREY5...Kevin DURANT, and New Orleans HORNETS PG and MARYLAND College Park Star Greivis VASQUEZ.

With all that HOOPS Tradition one has to think that FLINT HILL Prep will some day soon come back to life and get back to that status as the other VA Prep School you want nothing to do with.

Guys like "3D" Dennis SCOTT, George LYNCH and Aaron BAIN...you almost have to say it's in the cards in Fairfax, Virginia soon.
