The 2011-12 NBA Rookie Class has been a pretty good one and considering what it looked like on paper it has surprised some. Most of the Lottery Picks from across the BIG POND have yet to make it to their respective rosters. One question....did the #1 Overall hold down his spot and was he worthy of his pick?
That question was yes and Duke Point God and New Jersey native by way of St. Patrick's Academy Jersey (HS Teammates UNC Combo G Dexter Strickland and UK's SF Michael Kidd-Gilchrist) Kyrie "For MAYOR of C-Town" Irving was the best pick on the board and the CAVS got it right in a must get it right situation.
Others in the Rookie Class might surprise you but I have my Top 10 Rookies on the 2011-12 BLUEDUDE SPORTSTALK NBA All-Rookie Team sponsored by ROOK...get your OWN SH** and grab me a Scattered Smothered Covered...Grits on the Side:
#1 Squad
1. Kyrie IRVING PG CAVS 19 ppg 6 helpers 46% fg 41% 3pt fg 87% ft
CAVS got it right and on some nights he is arguably the 2nd or 3rd best player on the floor and is then CAVS best Player every night. KYRIE has IT and when a NBA Rookie PG has it he is soon to be anointed Point God Status at BLUEDDUDE SPORTSTALK.
2. Brandon KNIGHT PG PISTONS 13ppg 4 helpers 41% fg 37% 3pt FG 75% ft
JOE D was in a position like the CAVS get it right an he did. The UK One and Done Point Guard has shown flashes although not a true point I kinda a know what Joe D is thinking....2 Heads are better than one as in running mate Rodney STUCKEY aka STUCK of Eastern Washington Fame. Joe D sees a little ZEKE and Joe D in these two with nice Center Piece Mr. MONROE.
3. Klay THOMPSON PG/2G/SF WARRIORS 11ppg 2 helpers 44% fg 43% 3pt fg 87% ft
Bloodlines run thick as this is the some of Former University of Minnesota PF Michael Thompson and son KLAY is a straight shooter if you know what I mean. Probably the purest shooter in this class and the LOGO now WARRIORS President knows how to build that's why he shipped Monta off.....STEPH and KLAY in EAST BAY....you heard it here first....where else.
4. Ricky RUBIO PG T'WOLVES 11ppg 9 helpers 36% fg 34% 3pt fg 80% ft
Can see the floor better than anyone in the LOGO and players will love playing with the Bartender from SPAIN as he serving all night and there is no LAST CALL for the BALL with Double R 2.0. The T'WOLVES waited for this guy and the wait paid off but I still don't know why they drafted now gone former 'CUSE PG Johnny Flynn.
5. Marshon BROOKS 2G NETS 12ppg 2 helpers 43% fg 31% 3pt fg 75% ft
He filled it up in the Big East last season at Providence College and has been filling it up on occasion playing along side the JOKER..D-WILL 8 of New Jersey Drive 2K12. Stone Mountain Georgia's finest has some Offensive Tools and he is looking more and more like a BABY Ron Harper of Miami Ohio University Fame.
#2 Squad
6. Iman SHUMPERT COMBO KNICKS 10ppg 3 helpers 40% fg 31% 3pt fg 80% ft
They call him the Big GRANNY SMITH...21 SHUMPstreet the BLUEDUDE calls him the Prison Guard SHUMP of MSG for his LOCK DOWN/24 Hour Shoe Program D and he will bring the bench to you forget bringing the shower. Oh! and did the BLUEDUDE tell you he can finish with the best of them and built like a Strong Safety on SUNDAY. With the KNICKS having no 1st Round picks in 2012 this is a nice Pick in 2011 and at #17 to make an immediate impact for the Boys in MSG.
7. Isaiah THOMAS PG KINGS 11ppg 4 helpers 45% fg 37% 3pt fg 82% Ft
They drafted Jimmer FREDETTE and thought hew w3as going to be a nice complement to REKEhavoc (KINGS PG/2G/SF Tyreke EVANS) but REKEhavoc doesn't pass so how can you be a compliment. Anyway another Pint-Sized Hooper from the 206...Seattle Washington for those who don't know who can flat out get it. NBA Guys in the know miss all the time but in the LOGO if your still out there they can knock again.
8. Kemba WALKER PG BOBCATS 12ppg 4 helpers 38% fg 33% 3pt fg 82% ft
AIR JORDAN got this one right and I know their other 1st rounder PF Bismack BIYAMBO they are waiting on but you would like to get 2 impact or heavy minute rookies when you need lots of help. KEMBA will eventually get help as will BIYAMBO...I am hearing and boy would MJ23 like to get his mitts on the 'GO's by way of UK PF @AntDavis23.
9. Chandler PARSONS PF/SF ROCKETS 9ppg 5 boards 2 helpers 46% fg 33% 3pt fg 52% ft
A 2nd rounder and let the BLUEDUDE give you the 411 on Parsons. PARSONS attended Winter Park Florida' LAKE HOWELL HS and was teammates of former Florida PG/2G Nick Calathes and VCU's PG Joey Rodriguez. CALATHES was the BIG MAC of the 3 but PARSONS is the one in the LOGO not picking fun at the other 2. PARSONS is an extremely gifted PF in a WF body. Smooth and High Basketball IQ and his last 2 seasons under BILLY Ball in the SWAMP he was it. No surprise what he is doing in the Rocket City the BLUEDUDE had him as a mid to late 2011 1st Rounder.
10a. Derrick WILLIAMS PF T'WOLVES 9ppg 5 boards 43% fg 29% 3pt fg 68% ft
WILLIAMS has show signs that is why he was a Top 3 Pick and if the LAKE OSWEGO Monster was playing in front of him he would be leading all rookies in buckets trust me on that. A nice piece to go with K-Love and B-EASY which tells me either D-WILLIAMS or B-EASY will be on the trading block at the 2012 NBA Draft and most likely B-EASY.
10b. Kenneth FARIED PF/C NUGGETS 10 ppg 8 boards 58% fg 69% ft
Not a surprise at all considering everyone had FARIED in their top 15 Draft Picks. He has a lot of K-MART and Ben Wallace in him and it is his motor that will get him to be a really good player. He still has not flourished offensively and is leading all Rookies in Boards. His upside is huge in the Rocky Mountains.
Others in consideration for Top 11 Rookie Spots on BLUEDUDE SPORTSTALK
