The Minnesota Wild have one thing going for them as there are no moral victories in professional sports..they were 3-0 vs the Avs in Round 1 at the "Big Voltage" Excel Energy Center. Well they will need all that Mojo as the Hawks take car of Home Ice and move up 2-0 in the best of seven Round 2 series.
Behind excellent Checking and Defense with all that Skill-Level on the Wings and at Center the Blackhawks beat the Wild after some heavy turbulence in the 3rd with the Madhouse Seat Belt Lights on. Captain Serious 26-year-old Jonathan Toews struck first with a tip-in off of a Marian Hossa breakaway to make the score 1-0 Hawks. Brandon Saad struck in Period 2 on a wrister with just 56 seconds left in the 2nd an that was the Wild Back Breaker.
In the 3rd the Wild doing what they did in Game 1 put one on the board behind Cory McCormick's wrister just two minutes in. Then the Seat Belt Light was turned on for Hawks Nation as the Wild had a bevy of opportunities only to be turned away by Hawks 5-Star Net Minder Corey "Craw-Dad" Crawford (18-19 saves). Bickell then score late in the 3rd as he and Hossa were on a 2-1 as "Bicks" went top-shelf and then Saad scored Goal #2 an Empty Netter as the Seat Belt Lights were turned off as Hawks Nation was at the gate with a 2-0 lead. Wild Net Minder Ilya Bryzgalov stopped 18 of 21 shots as he is 0-2 in the Series.
Game 3 Tuesday May 6th at 8pm ET with a Game 4 on Friday May 9th with both tilts in St. Paul, Minnesota.
