The L.A. Dodgers needed a "W" as they dropped the first two of a four-piece against NL West Division Rival San Francisco Giants. The "Boys in Blue" came into Saturday's Game just 4.5 games out but losing ground as the Dodgers continue to struggle at home.
Behind seven innings of two run ball and allowing six hits while striking out eight Dodgers RHP Zack Greinke gets the "W". He moves to 6-1 in 2013 as CF Matt Kemp ( 2 for 4 w/2 RBIs Solo HR) and Yasiel Puig ( 2 for 4 w/ Run n RBI) backed Greinke solid outing. It was Giants Starter Matt Cain (ND) who kept San Fran close allowing just two runs on three hits through five innings of work. San Fran Reliever Jeremy Affeldt was lit up as he came in for Cain and allowed two runs in an inning and 2/3.
The Giants Offense was supplied by Back Stop Buster Posey going 3 for 4 knocking a run along with Giants OF Hunter Pence also getting an RBI. Ex-Giants Captain Save-A-Game Brian Wilson got the Dodgers out of a bases loaded jam in the top half of the 8th to preserve victory.
Dodgers move to 20-18 while the Giants fall to 23-14...
