The Pittsburgh Pirates know they cam make up ground somewhere as the Redbirds and Red Legs go head to head on the Ohio for four. The Buccos need to just take care of their clubhouse and then scoreboard watch what others of importance are doing.

The Pirates did just that and it came late but better late then never as the Buccos beat the Beer Makers of Wisconsin 4-3 with a duck crossing the dish in the 9th. Buccos Late-August Pick Ups in First Baseman Justin Morneau ( 3 for 3) and OF Marlon Byrd (2 for 3 w/ 2 RBI) have paid big dividends early as they provide that Veteran Know-How navigating through "Fight for October" Hardball. Add Buccos Leader and All-Star CF Andrew McCutchen (2 for 4 w/ 3 Runs and a Solo HR) the Buccos have a "Cutch 22" Situation with more developing situations in and around Cutch. The Buccos win on a Pinch-Hit Bomb in the 9th off the Ash of Travis Snider and that is timely hitting to go with timely pitching.

Buccos Rook RHP Garrit Cole pitched well as that Bump is getting hotter and hotter as we get deep and deeper into September. Cole went six allowing two runs on five hits as he walked one and struck out five. Brew Crew's Ace Yovani "Lamborghini" Gallardo was almost that going seven allowing two to cross the dish on five hits. The Brew Crew get two runs off the Louisville Slugger of back stop Matt Lucroy and he is a good one.

The Pirates now lead the Central by two full games over the Redbirds and are in the hunt for the Senior Circuit's Best W-L just four back of the Atlanta Braves.
