We are officially at September 2013 Hardball in the Show and you don't think some teams aren't going for the "Fight for October"...think again. Both the Pittsburgh Pirates and L.A. Dodgers are making moves to solidify their run to the Fall Classic 2K13.
The Pittsburgh Pirates needed someone in that line up to protect CF Andrew McCutchen and Hot Corner Pedro "EL Toro" Alvarez. They go get a big bat in Twinkies First Baseman Justin Morneau who I thought would move at the MLB Trade Deadline after the 2013 All-Star Game. Morneau brings pop from the left side as he and the Twins needs to part. Morneau as we go to press is hitting at a .259 clip with 17 bombs and 74 ribbies with 56 runs. He is also a great deal with an 2013 expiring contract that paid him $14 million and to the Buccos that is good business as the Twins were more than willing not going anywhere in 2013. Twinkies get OF Alex Presley and a player to be named later.
The L.A. Dodgers have been making deal, after deal as they last acquired from the Fightin' Fish RHP Ricky Nolasco to bolster their Rotation and that proved to be right on par. Well now they go get Utility Infielder Michael Young from the Phightin' Phils. Young in his first year not playing with the Rangers has been useful for the Phils. He has hit .272 with 8 home runs and 41 ribbies and forty-nine runs. He also adds quality depth to deep team in the outfield that needed it in the infield. The Dodgers get Young on an expiring contract of $16 million that the Rangers paid $10 million of when he was acquired by the Phils.
