The New York Mets are out of the running and have been for quite sometime but they helped out the Dodgers and the NL Central Trio of the Pirates, Redbirds, and Red Legs on Hump Day by beating the Braves 5-2.

The Mets use a two-run 1st and a three-run 3rd frame to put the game away early behind Mets RF Andrew Brown's two-run bomb in the 1st. Then in the 3d frame Mets first baseman Lucas Duda went Solo Smack and the Amazins' add two moire to cushion the start for RHP Dillon Gee. Gee went seven cruising down Peachtree Street allowing just one run on four hits as he walked one and struck out five Braves Hitters. Braves get a Solo Shot from All-Star Freddie Freeman and and RBI from B.J. Upton for their offense.

Braves RHP Kameron Loe was chased after 4 1/3 innings after giving up five runs on eleven hits as he walked three and gave up those two bombs early. The Braves lose but they are in the "Fight for October" as their business from here on out is trying to keep the Senior Circuit's Best Record. As we go to press the Braves are 1.5 games up on the NL West leading Dodgers and 3.5 games up on the NL Central leading Buccos of the 'Burgh.

The Amazins' are trying to finish strong as they have went heavy Farm to see the Invite to Spring Training 2014 as well as some Vets looking to stay and get a new deal if possible.
