The NBA season is at the halfway point and the early leaders of the NBA'S Most Valuable Player Award is ................Right.............WHO?
There are a lot of questions still to be answered as we are only at the Midway Point of the Season but there are about 5 real Surefire Nominees from the BLUEDUDE'S Perspective.......and without further a due they are:
The list is 1-5 with #1 being the early favorite.....
1. AMAR'E STOUDAMIRE KNICKS aka STAT (Standing Tall And Talented) This is a no doubter for the sure fact that he has made the GARDEN and the KNICKS relevant again. The Power Forward that showed flashes of maybe a good rebounder and finisher at the end of games is now doing both in GOTHAM CITY. The NBA'S #2 Scorer and because the KNICKS Offense goes through him most likely will remain in the top 4-5 all season.
The KNICKS are no where to be found in the EAST without him and suprisingly enough the KNICKERBOCKERS have been a tough out at MSG and have battle on the road to be at a respectable 22-18 almost at the midpoint of the season.....all because of the STAT.
If anything else the MAX Contract he recieved from the KNICKS this past summer has been justified
SEASON STATS: 26 ppg, 9 rebs. 2 blocks 50% fg 79% ft
2. KEVIN DURANT THUNDER aka the DURANTULA aka BABY ICE Again.....Leading his team and the NBA in Scoring....just a nightmare for anyone who tries to stop him. Not since JORDAN have I seen a guy effortlessly get off on the offensive end like KD. So smooth that at the end of most games you look up and say KD had about 20.....WRONG.......KD had 35....and still going.
At only the ripe age of 22, KD will be at the top of the NBA SCoring and one of its top players for at least the next decade....and I don't care who is coming.......it's KD'S World Now....and you just play in it.
The THUNDER are expected and will make a run at the LAKESHOW, SPURS, and the MAVS before it's all said and done and those teams hope the DURANTULA is not on for that series because if he is.........those teams might be going home.......he is that good.
SEASON STATS: 28 ppg 6 rebs 47% fg 88% ft NOTE: a lot of his shots are from the COUNTY LINE in OK CITY
3. DERRICK ROSE BULLS aka D ROSE aka POOH MVP.... MVP.....MVP as the UNITED CENTER crowds chants for the 6'3" South SIDE of CHICAGO Native. The BULLS were expected him to carry the load at the POINT GUARD Spot not the LOAD for the entire team.....but D ROSE has done just that in a style onto himself.
Probably the fastest player in the league from end to end he is a matchup nightmare for most opposing guards and players form his explosive slashes to the BUCKET, to the Monster DUNKS at the rim, the running push shot that almost looks like a shot put he is releasing, and an ever improving mid game and 3pt shot that is getting better and better each year. Come to think of it once POOH starts hitting that open jump shot consistently he will be OFF THE CHARTS as though he is on the CHARTS now.
With injuries to key BIG MEN NOAH and BOOZER ROSE has had to step up his game and he has surpassed all expectations from a fans and peer standpoint. If he continues to play this way the whole season he will definately have the BULLS in the 3rd Spot in the EAST and he will get heavy MVP Considerations.
SEASON STATS: 25ppg 8 assts 5 rebs 45% fg 80% ft
4. DERON WILLIAMS JAZZ aka D WILL The South DALLAS Native who balled at THE COLONY TX HS by way of ILLINOIS Champaign-Urbana is hands down the best PG in the Association. Remember D WILL doesn't have a real sidekick like ROSE or DURANT he is playing with very good and solid NBAers like Al JEFFERSON, cj MILES, george MILSAP, and always losing his 2G ( like Ronnie BREWER to the GRIZ now BULLS and Wes MATTHEWS JR. free agent pickup last summer for BLAZERS). Put that into what DERON is doing on a nightly basis tell anyone one with NBA Sense that he is a legit TOP 5 Player in the Association right now.
One thing about D WILL is that he makes all those JAZZ Players that are solid even better playing with him that is the best compliment that NBA PG can get. And his size at the PG spot gives him an advantage almost every night against any other PG in the LEAGUE.
SEASON STATS: 22ppg 9 assts 4 rebs. 46% fg 85% ft
5. DIRK NOWITZKI MAVS aka the DIGGLER aka DIRTY We now know how important DIRK is to the MAVS as he went down with an injury and the MAVS have strggled mightily ever since. But before the injury the MAVS were a 2nd best NBA Record of 24-6 towards the end of DECEMBER when DIRK went down.
The MAVS have a darn good team that has a lot of veterans and DIRK is the best player on a top 4 NBA TEAM when healthy. The GERMAN SHARP SHOOTER is definately in his prime and the MAVS are trying to ride him out as much as possible. The other loss of the Caron BUTLER was probably one the MAVS could do with out and now they must get scoring from 2-3 other guys that are on the roster like STEVENSON, MARION, and more from TERRY and KIDD to off set the loss of BUTLER.
SO GOES the DIGGLER so goes the MAVS.........after injury probably a long shot to get the NBA MVP.
SEASON STATS: 24 ppg 7 rebs. 54% fg 88%ft
Other PLAYERS worth mentioning at the MID SEASON:
DWAYNE WADE aka FLASH plays with the KING what do you expect
LeBRON JAMES aka KING JAMES plays with WADE what do you expect
KOBE BRYANT aka Black Mamba always worthy an original BRAND
DWIGHT HOWARD aka SUPERMAN Best BIG in the LAND and improving offensively
RAJON RONDO aka DOUBLE R aka the PLASTIC MAN the engine for GREEN TEAM no RONDO no O'BRIEN's
MANU GINOBLI aka GINOBLIIIIIIIIIIIII the BEST Player on the best team thus far a top 5 NBA Late FINISHER
