It wasn't pretty but that 2-1 hawks victory just witnessed was straight from the Blue-Collar 2nd City Chi-City as the Hawks worked enough to get a "W" in Game 5. Now we enter elimination games only in games 6 and 7 if necessary.

The Wild struck first with their workman-like approach as Erik Haula scored with just four minutes left in period 1. The Hawks with Hawks Nation on edge get even midway through the 2nd with a Patrick Kane wrister redirected by Bryan Bickell to make it 1-1 as that score stood until period 3. Then it was Captain Serious with a tip-in just four minutes into period 3 that was the difference.

Hawk Net Minder Corey Crawford was fabulous stopping 27 of 28 shots as was Wild Net Minder Ilya Bryzgalov who stopped 26 of 28 shots. The Hawks finally get over that 22 mark which was the highest in the series leading up to game 5 for SOG. Putting the Frozen One on net creates opportunities and that's all you could ask for.

The Hawks first goal was on the Power Play as Game 6 shifts to the Twin Cities on Tuesday March 13th...
