Someone could draw the conclusion that the Rip City Blazers six-game fight with the Red Nation Rockets might have taken a lot out of the Blazers. Then draw those same conclusions that the Spurs were beat up in seven games with the rugged Dallas Mavericks. Now what your seeing is a Team on a Mission that started back in June 2013 plain and simple!
The San Antonio Spurs came out firing on all cylinders and didn't stop until the clock struck zeroes. They led at the break 60-40 sending all whop follows Rip City to the concourses of the Moda Center shaking their heads. The Blazers cut that lead to 83-69 but could not get any closer than eleven early in the 4th as the Spurs go onto win 118-103.
Spurs All-Star Point God Tony Parker goes for a game-high 29 points and six helpers shooting 12 for 20 from the field. Dunc added 19 points and hauled in seven boards with Kawhi Leonard going for a smooth 16 points and ten boards. The Spurs Bench though was fantastic as they outscore the Blazers Bench 40-6 led by Manu Ginoboli's 14 points. The Spurs also turned the Orange over just seven times compared to the Blazes fourteen times.
The Blazers now officially in a hole was led by Wes Matthews 22 points, Nicolas Batum 20 points and nine boards, Damian Lillard's 21 points and nine helpers, and L-Train's 21 points and dozen Oranges. The Blazers Starters accounted for 97 of the 103 Blazer Points and there lies the Rip City Weakness from 2012-13...no solid reinforcements.
