The Cleveland Indians are down and out in the AL Central but not in the AL Wild Card. They get an amazing performance from Starter Danny Salazar as he goes six allowing just six hits and striking out five with no runs allowed. Tigers Starter Justin Verlander pitched his best outing maybe since All-Star Break going seven allowing no runs on and four hits while striking out six and walking two. The game goes in the 9th scoreless then...
With bases loaded Tribe Hot Corner Mike Aviles takes a Joaquin Benoit offering and "Touch'em All" as Aviles goes Granny and just like that the Tribe go onto beat the Tigers 4-0 and leave town 1-2. The Tigers had their chances as they pounded out some ten hits but two were two-baggers the rest singles. The Tribe needed this one in the worst way to stay in contention in the Wild Card. Miguel Cabrera was out due to an Injury as his 20123 chase to another Triple Crown is in serious jeopardy.
As we go to press the Tribe is 7.5 games out in the AL Central and trail the Rays by four in the Wild Card. The Tigers are a game behind the AL East leading Carmines for the Junior Circuit's Best Overall Record.
