As if Second-Year Memphis Tigers and Memphis, Tennessee Legend in Tigers Coach Anfernee "Penny" Hardaway needed another Big Mac (McDonald's All-American at Bluedude Sportstalk) the Tigers nab Top 20 in the Class of 2k19 PF/SF Precious Achiuwa from Bronx, N.Y. by way of Benedict Prep in N.J. and Prep National Powerhouse Montverde Academy in Florida.
The signing of Achiuwa pushes the Tigers into the #1 slot in the Class of 2k19 as they already had Memphis Area Product and consensus #1 H.S. player in James Wiseman. You also add consensus Top 25 SF D.J. Jeffries and former Duke Signee and San Diego, CA Mission Bay H.S. All-American "Boogie" Ellis a consensus Top 40 player from the Class of 2k19 the Tigers are back in full force.
That "Pitch" potential Memphis Recruits get from NBA Star Penny Hardaway is just the "Intro" to the program, Then former NBA Standout Vet and Big Mac and Florida Gator Mike Miller follows Penny along with former NBA Vet and Coach Sam Mitchell who was Kevin Garnett's Mentor when he K.G. starred in his early days for the Timberwolves its lights out for young men who are thinking about the Tigers. Lil Penny is chilling with all of the Squad when they get there and no one gets to to that but Memphis Tigers Basketball!
As for the Volunteer State Basketball the plot thickens with Rick Barnes at UT Knoxville and former NBA Star and Big Mac Jerry Stackhouse at Vandy in the Music City lookout as all three programs are making serious noise on that recruiting trail and in March Madness heading towards 2020.
Note: Memphis is also in the hunt for reclassified 2020 (Now #5 Class 2k19) SG R.J. Hampton from the Dallas, TX Area of Little Elm, TX as he takes a few Core Classes this summer to graduate early this summer as he has the Tigers, Rock Chalk, Big Blue Nation and The Brotherhood.
If Penny and Company can get Hampton this will be one of the best classes assembled in the last 20 years counting the 2k14-15 Kentucky Wildcats that had the likes of Karl Anthony-Towns, Devin Booker, Harris Twins (Aaron/Andrew), Willie Cauley-Stein, Trey Lyles, Dakari Johnson and Tyler Ulis among others and they were all Big Mac's!
