The Baltimore Ravens post GM Ozzie Newsome is off the a great start as they are set to grab both Seattle Seahawks All-Pro Back Stop Earl Thomas and New Orleans Saints Standout RB Mark Ingram.
The Ravens let Safety Eric Weddle walk as he signed on with the Los Angeles Rams as Thomas was the best Safety out there in free agency in a packed field. The deal is said to be worth $55 million over 48 months with $22 million paid out by year #1. Now 432 million of that is guaranteed and that is even more what Thomas thought he would get as he and his Agent David Mulugheta were around that $30 million mark guaranteed. This is a huge get for the Purple Browns as Weddle along with ILB CJ Mosely, 16 year Ravens T-Sizzle and Red Jersey Collector Za'Darius Smith are all gone.
As for the offensive side of the Wilson Pigskin RB Mark Ingram ( $15 million over 36 months) is a nice fit as 2nd-year QB Lamar "Video Game" Jackson settles in and tries to stretch the field more and more with the vertical passing game. The Ravens Gadget Type Offense fits Ingram as he ran some of that same type of movement in New Orleans under Air Payton.
Where does the moves put the Ravens well as we go to press the Steelers and Ravens at least on paper are fighting for 2nd place behind Cleveland...
