At the MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL Winter Meetings TEAMS Rosters are starting to take shape. More deals were done today to improve ROSTERS or to solidify Key Veterans to their respective Teams.
The CHICAGO WHITE SOX secured the services of "PK" PAUL KONERKO, their CLUBHOUSE Leader, for 3 years $37 Million and back loaded the contract as did ADAM DUNN who also back loaded his deal to make room for the CHI SOX to sign PK to his deal.
On the NORTH SIDE of CHI-TOWN the CUBBIES get it CRACKIN' with the 1 year signing of RAYS 1B CALOS PENA for $10 Million. Pena had a breakout year 2 year ago with a 48 hr 120 rbi year but disappointed last year with a .196 avg and 28 bombs. But with DEREK LEE departed the CUBS had to get something on that corner and they got their man....at least for now.
So much for the RANGERS going after Free Agent Pitcher CLIFF LEE and if they do they will have to come up with a whole bunch of CA$H......PINSTRIPES GM BRIAN CASHMAN reportedly has met with LEE'S Represenatives and have offered 6 years $140 Million.
C'MON RANGERS get your check book out.......you are dealing with the EVIL EMPIRE......LOL..GO YANKS....I love the BOMBERS because they are agreesive in staying competetive and want to win at a high level.....EVERY YEAR....Nothing wrong with that.
The RANGERS might not get Lee but they have since turned their eyes to Free Agent OF CARL CRAWFORD. The RANGERS also want ROYALS PITCHER ZACH GREINKE but he is under contract for 2 more years at $27 Million. So do the RANGERS want to get in their farm system to get GREINKE?
The RANGERS also have said that they have PLAN B in Hitters MAGS ORDONEZ, JIM THOME, or HIDEKI MATSUI............... STAY TUNED.........We know RANGERS PRESIDENT NOLAN RYAN can bring the HEAT........Literally
