The Chicago Blackhawks after a 3-1-2 trip end it with a goose egg in the "Valley of the Sun" as the 'Yotes shut the Hawks out 2-0. 'Yotes Net Minder Mike Smith(20-16-9) stopped all 30 SOG and was 3 for 3 in the Power Play as the Hawks were stifled at the point of attack.

The Blackhawks had six of the nine penalties in this one and to be productive in Ice Games you cannot play short-handed coming out of the Motel nor after a home-cooked meal. 'Yotes Keith Yandle made them pay in the first penalty as he gets a "Slapper" at the 1:09 mark in Period 1.  To cap off the scoring 'Yotes Radim Vrbata goes "Wrister" on another Power Play at the 18:29 mark in Period 2 and that did in the Hawks.

Hawks Net Minder Corey Crawford (22-9-11) stopped 24 of 26 shots as both goals came via the Power Play for the 'Yotes. The Hawks now will get an extended time off due to the Sochi 2014 Winter Olympics as Nine Hawks will compete in the Games. Chicago falls to 35-11-14 and at 84 points which is good for #2 overall and in the Western Conference.
