The San Antonio Spurs and Cleveland Cavaliers might have been an early showcase to what NBA Heads might see in June depending on who you talk to. Yes there is a small contingent from that group believing but when you have Gregg Popovich as your lead man anything is possible!
A nip and tuck affair that went back and forth all game long was a 58-57 Cavs lead at the break. It was Spurs Star Kawhi Leonard who led the way for #SpursFamilia with a game-high 41 points on 30 shots. He hit some clutch ones but the Spurs need to get more touches for Mr. Mid-Range and the smoothest shooting "Big" in the "Logo" in former Seagoville, TX H.S. Star by way of Hookem' Horns in LaMarcus "L-Train" Aldridge.
L-Train had 16 points and grabbed a dozen boards on just 14 shots and that has to change with the "Spaniard" out in Spain National Team Star Pau Gasol. Spurs Rook Dejounte Murray had 14 points on 7 of 10 from the field showing signs as he has stepped ahead on that Spurs Depth Chart in front of Danny Green.
The Cavs had their chances as both King James (29 pts 7 assts 6 rebs) and Kyrie (29 pts 9 asst) had monster games. Those numbers though were not as impactful as they look as it was the old adage "Not how many points you scored...but when did you get those points"! King James did hit the game-tying three late but missed the potential game-winning one as time expired in regulation.
Both Tristan Thomspon and the "Lake Oswego Monster" dba Kevin Lover had double-doubles but they just didn't make the play to seal the win! San Antonio hit 10 money balls to the Cavs thirteen as Cleveland led in turnovers 18 to 13 and that is the tell tell signs of taking an "L" especially playing in front of the home folks.
#TeamPops moves to 34-9 as #TeamLue falls to 30-12...as the "Land" is by far still the best team in the East...
