The Cubs broke out of their slum at the Dish by having "BP" during game time. Redbirds Starter Tyler Lyons lasted just four Innings as was rocked allowing nine hits and nine runs. He allowed two HRs including a two-run HR and a three-run HR as the Cubbies empty New Busch rather early.
Cubs Hitters Junior Lake (3/6 2 R 6 RBI), Anthony Rizzo ( 1/5 2 R 3 RBI), Sterling Castro (3/6 R 3 RBI), and Mike Olt (2/6 2 R 2 RBI) all had big nights carrying the Cubs Offensive Load. Both Lake and Olt hit the Tree-run HR and Two-Run HR respectively as it as 11-5 in the 9th when the Cubs jumped all over Redbirds Middle Man Randy Choate. The Sidearm Left-Handed Delivery Pitcher allowed seven hits and six runs in just 2/3 of an inning. Cubs Starter Travis Wood gets the "W" as he goes six allowing five runs while he walked three and struck out four.
The Cubs have been struggling mightily in the Series before this one in Atlanta getting swept by the Braves. Those Bats woke up tonight at the expense of Redbirds Nation. Cubs move to 12-24 with St. Louis falling to the .500 mark...
