The Chicago Blackhawks play their tails off only to have to go to another Shootout and lose again. The Sharks scored on a short-hand Goal by Joe Pavelski to make it 1-0 in the 3rd as the first two periods were all about the Net Minders Crawford and Niemi. The Hawks then in just over a minute laster get a Brandon Saad goal to make it 1-1.

The Hawks now moving into OT knowing they would like to end it here because of their poor Shootout Record in the 2013-14 season. Both Teams go scoreless in the extra frame. Only for both Goalies to play top end Hockey and of all people the Hawks get beat by Joe Thornton in the Shootout and it was a slick goal as the Hawks grab a point. That puts them on the Pre-Sochi Winter Games Trip at 1-1-1 and go figure.

Hawks Net minder "Craw-Dad" (20-8-10) stopped 38 of 39 frozen ones to the net in a stellar game and only if he could bring that same mentality to Shootouts. Former Hawk Antii Niemi (28-11-6) saved 29 of 30 frozen ones as his record in the 2013-14 season speaks for itself.

The Hawks now move to the LA-Area to face the Kings on Monday February 3rd and the Ducks in a showdown on Hump Day February 5th. The Hawks move to 33-10-14 with 80 points and lead the Blue Notes by one point. The Sharks grab two points and move to 76 points and that is good for 4th in the West.
