It was billed by many as a heavy weight knock down drag out affair and it lived up to its billing. Not because it was Duke vs Sryacuse but Coach K vs Coach Boehiem two living legends and two of the biggest faces in Major College Hoops.

The game featured big-time talent on the Baselines for both. As Duke featured the best Freshman on Campus bar none in Chi-City Native Jabari Parker and Red Shirt Soph Rodney Hood. The 'Cuse is led by 4-Year Star C.J. Fair of the talent-rich Baltimore Area and Jerami Grant of the D.M.V. and that would be D.C., Maryland, and Virginia those not knowing at home along with Rakeem Christmas of Philly P.A. Hoops Lore. None of the above gentlemen mentioned disappointed and it came down to making a play in the extra frame to hit the Winner's Circle.

Behind 28 points and five boards from Fair and 24 points and a dozen Oranges corralled by Jerami Grant with Christmas adding 7 points, ten boards, and blocking six shots it was too much to overcome for the Dukies. Yes Duke shot lights out from the Arc (15-36)  but they had to to stay in the game. Houston, Texas Native Rasheed Suliamon led Duke with 16 points including the game-tying Money ball to send it to extras. Parker had 15 points and nine boards as the Freshman continues to play the 5 when he is a true Small Forward on the next level. Another Philadelphia Native Duke's Amile Jefferson  went for 14 points, seven boards, and five helpers as Duke just does not have enough bodies to negate that 'Cuse Monster Front Line. In the end it went down to OT and 'Cuse wins 91-89 as this was the first meeting for both in the ACC.

Smooth Freshman Point Tyler Ennis displayed why he is the best Lead Guard in the US no one talks about with a quiet but effective 14 points and nine helpers on just 3 of 5 shots and 8-8 from the Stripe. These teams will meet again in three weeks....

The Orange move to 21-0 for the first time in their Basketball Rich Tradition...
