These are not the 80s Royals led by the Great KC Blue of back in the day but they are making a move North in Talent and in the American League. They took on the Tigers at Comerica in the first of a Sun/Moon Double-Dip and they faced Verlander not good right?

Well Verlander went eight innings of seven hit Hardball but allowed just two runs and that was plenty right? It wasn't not when Royals LHP Danny Duff goes six scoreless innings of one hitting Ash for a base knock as he issued three free passes and struck out three as Royals beat Tigers 2-1.

The Royals Offense came off first baseman Eric Hosmer's Solo Bomb in the 4th and they tack on another one in the seventh. The Tigers get a Solo Bomb from Pinch-Hitter Ramon Santiago but that was it as the royals move within 7 1/2 of the Tigers and 1 1/2 of the Tribe. The AL Wild Card is what both the Royals and Tribe are chasing and there is still plenty of work to do in that category. The Tribe is just 3 1/2 of with the Royals 5 games off.

The back end of that Sun/Moon Double-Dip will pit the Royals RHP James Shields (7-8) vs the Tigers LHP Jose Alvarez (1-2).
