The Buccos come off of taking two of three from the Boys from Chavez Ravine and the Reds take two of three from the Brew Crew. As we go to press the Reds are 2 1/2 game back of the Redbirds and the Buccos are three games back as three of the seven teams in the Show with 40 plus wins reside in the rugged NL Central led by Baseball Town USA...St. Louis, Missouri. This is a crucial four game set for both as they try to stay close to the Cards and the NL Wild Card Race. Is there such thing as meaningful games in June of a schedule that runs into early October...Don't tell the Buccos and Reds that!

Both Teams are locked in and going no where but North as the Pirates have Liriano and Locke with a young Cumpton as the Reds have Leake, Latos, Arroyo, and Bailey. On paper the Reds have the advantage but both teams are playing well and performing at the Dish. The NL Central leading Redbirds have four at home with the NL Central basement dwelling Chicago Cubs.
