The Kansas City Royals already in the driver's seat for the AL Central and the AL's best W-L as we go to press battled on Tuesday Night for a tough 3-2 win over the visiting O's from B-More. It was the Royals Offense that scored on a Kendrys Morales solo Blast in the 1st and two runs in the 2nd that as plenty for Royals starter Danny Duffy.
B-More made it real interesting all game long as they cut that three-run deficit to one in the 4th on Jonathan Schoop and Caleb Joseph RBI singles making it 3-2. Both Duffy (5.2 IP 5 H 2 R 2 ER 2 BB 5 SO) and O's starter Miguel Gonzalez (4.1 IP 6 H 3 R 3 ER 3 BB SO HR) would settle down after that as "Gonzo" would exit in the 5th.
It just came down to the Pens after that and the royals nailed it down preserving the 3-2 lead for five more frames. Royals #2 Captain Save-A-Game Wade Davis gets his 12th save of 2K15 filing in for K.C.'s #1 Captain Save-A-Game Greg Holland.
The Royals move to 77-48 while the O's fall to 62-63. That AL Wild Card is still within reach for Bird Land U.S.A. but they need to make a move quickly.
