NOVA dealing...BRONX Bombers ride the Right Arm of IVAN NOVA for a NINE Inning Job as they beat the struggling ORIOLES..."WEEKEND BENDERS" Saturday Afternoon at the BRONX Zoo #YANKEESbiz

Don;t look now but nine games over the .500 mark and plenty of work still to do the New York Yankees are quietly putting together a run to get back into the AL East Race and the AL Wild Card Race is what's on their menu now.

Behind a nine inning masterpiece from Bombers RHP Ivan Nova ( CG 3 H 1 BB 5 SO 0 R) and a Solo Bomb from Robbie Cano plus another run knocked in from Cano's Maple the Yankees cruise to a 2-0 shutout and the Orioles have gone from AL East Contenders to AL Wild Card Pretenders as they now fall behind the Yanks in the standings. Orioles Starter Scott Feldman pitched a whale of  game going seven innings allowing one run on six hits while walking one and striking out five.

The Orioles Offense just managed three hits and that trio of Machado, Adam Bombs, and Crush Davis went a combined 1 for 10 with three strikeouts and they left five ducks on the pond. That cannot happen as the O's at least need one of them to give them some sort of run production. The O's now fall behind in the AL East by eight games and the AL Wild Card by 4.5 games.

The Yankees are making their move as they go for the sweep on Sunday being 7.5 games back of the Carmines in the AL East but just four game back in the AL Wild Card.

NFL CUTS down to 53...BIG NAMES...well Names you are well aware of!...SUNDAY TALK with a "Did I Make the Team"?

No time wasted as the Names keep coming that didn't make the 53-man NFL Roster...

#12thManSpaceNeedle206...CB Antione Winfield and QB Brady Quinn

Winfield couldn't get a membership card to the "Legion of Boom". Quinn tweeted to Seahawks Nation too bad half of Seahawks Nation didn't even know he was on the team.

#Birds...OG Danny Watkins

Look when you miss you better not miss in the 1st round and now you now the Eagles Story for not getting to Winning Time. It's not just about the 2011 1st rounder Watkins but more than a handful of Picks. Former Eagles Prez that had  hand in it Joe Banner is now working in Cleveland. Now you know what the Browns have no Kicker on their 53...#BannerBooBoo

#BoltUp...WR Robert Meachem OT Max Starks

Here is a case where you have to look at a Free Agent and see why the Team cut him, who was his QB, and looking closer was it the System that made him...that is ex-Who Dat WR Robert Meachem. Now he walks off with Duffel Bags with nowhere to go! Starks was on his last job as he was hanging on for dear NFL Life in Diego.

#Bengals...QB John Skelton

Well Hard Knocks next episode is ruined now we now John Johnson won the QB Battle as he was told to get in his playbook and be smarter...and he wasn't. Don;t be fooled bu JJ he can play and if the STrawberry Rifle" Andy Dalton gets injured JJ can do the Job but no for an extended period of time.

#ChiefsPride...TE Tony Moeaki

I had the pleasure of watching this young man from High School (Wheaton/Warrenville, Illinois South HS) to Kinnick Stadium playing for Kirk Ferentz and the Hawkeyes to the Chiefs. He is as talented as they get but kept getting injured. Someone will take a flyer on him...like the Patriots.

#GangGReen...QB Greg McElroy

Remember when he threw the Jets Locker Room under the bus and Santonio Holmes was asked about what McElroy said and Holmes response was," Who is Greg McElroy"...he knows now!

#Panthers...QB Jimmy Clausen

Just like yesterday when this once ballyhooed Five-Star QB signed with ND and showed up in a Limo arriving in South Bend on Signing Day. Since then he has done nothing. Imagine that...Two ex-South Bend U QBs cut in the same day with no shot of getting a another gig......enough said!

There we have it a mixture of NFL Players that get cut for multiple reasons and 2014 potential Draft Picks read this...and keep working as your never bigger than that NFL Logo...never!

DWYER cut by STEELERS....TRIPLE DIAMOND Chronicles Take 118...RB Jonathan "JYD" DWYER among the CUTS in the 'BURGH and a surprise cut I might add...Wow! #SteelerGang #STEELERnation

The Pittsbugh Steelers make a surprise move and that call had to be even more surprising to one Jonathan Dwyer. As the Steelers make their cuts down to the 53-man roster they cut 2012 leading rusher Jonathan Dwyer. That is big news in Steelers Camp considering he looked maybe to be the Starter in Week 1 vs the Titans at Heinz Field.

Dwyer gained 623 yards on 156 attempts in 2012 scoring two TD's. The Running Back by committee with Dwyer, Isaaac Redman, then Steelers Rook RB Chris Rainey, and now Bird Gang RB  and former Steelers 1st Rounder Rashard Mendenhall was working at least for 2012. The Steelers knew they had to get a fast back or fast backs for their new Zone-Blocking Scheme and Dwyer was as fleet-footed as Stephens-Howling, Red Dawg Redman, newly-acquired Felix Jones, and 2013 2nd rounder Le'veon Bell. As for JYD getting on with someone else it would be real tough considering the finals cuts are going on as we speak down to that 53.

The 2010 6th rounder out of Georgia Tech Dwyer battled weight issues early on but came into the 2013 Camp as light as he has ever been to his credit. The System is what tanked Dwyer it wasn't the weight issues or work ethic. Steelers need some stability at Running Back ASAP or the whole thing might blow up!

The "MAD HATTER" Coach MILES and GEAUX TIGERS "U" of LSU head to JERRY'S HOUSE in TEXAS to face that Dangerous FROG of "Fort Worth U" the TCU HORNED FROGS and Coach PATTERSON...which is more dangerous... a BENGAL Tiger or a CREATURE on a LILY PAD with a Killer RED Strike".."FALL SATURDAY's" TIGERS n FROGS from North Texas #GEAUXtigers #HORNEDfrogs

Look what the wind blew into Arlington, Texas at Jerry's House as the LSU Tigers will take on the the Texas Christian University Horned Frogs. The Tigers come in with a top 15 ranking and into that usual top 5 ranking and they look vulnerable. The Horned Frogs start their 2nd year in the Big 12 which means those 5-stars that use to go to Aggie Land and Hookem' Horns from the DFW Area are starting to stay home and no NCAA that is not a violation the Bluedude talking Texas Football Recruits...stay in your Lane Indy! This is an intriguing match up and the SEC will play anyone at their place to get it cracking (Big 10..See SEC Scheduling).

"Baton Rouge U" TIGERS @ "Fort Worth U" HORNED FROGS from Jerry's House in Texas

Key Players for LSU

QB Zach Mettenberger
RB Alfred Blue
WR/KR/PR Odell Beckham
OL La'el Collins
DL Anthony Johnson
DB Craig Lotson
LB Lamin Barrow

Key Players for TCU

QB Casey Paschall
QB Treveon Boykin
RB BJ Catalon
WR Josh Boyce
WR Brandon Carter
PK Jaden Oberkrom
DL Devonte Fields
DB Jason Verrett

Here we go as the Horned Frogs will start someone at QB as Treveon Boykin did his thing taking suspended QB Caey Paschall's place but for TCU maybe two is better than one. That vaunted LSU "D" led by Top 10 Pick in the 2014 NFL Draft DL Anthony Johnson will be tested as they get nine players drafted off that "D" from the 2012 team. DB Lotson is another in a long line of LSU DB's and Barrow is a monster at Backer. LSU QB Mettenberger has to be past being a game manager as he should be able to get lose under former Ravens O-Coordinator and Ordinary Joe Flacco QB-Sitter Cam Cameron.

TCU has the best two Defensive Players in the Big 12 in OLB (listed at DE/DL) Devonte Fields who reminds me of current Colts OLB and Alabama A&M Grad Robert Mathis. Fields at 6'4"
and just north of 240 el bees will be coveted by 3-4 Teams in the 2014 NFL Draft. TCU DB Jason Verrett is another player headed for the 2014 1st round and arguably the best DB in the country..that good. He will be on LSU Top Dawg in WR/KR/PR Odell Beckham and that is a must-see match up.

This is a must-see TV as the TIGERS aren't as experienced like years past and TCU is really good like winning the Big 12 good as Arlington, Texas and Jerry's House will be rockin'!

Game Time 9pm ET

QB Aaron MURRAY and Mascot "UGA IX" takes his English Bulldog Self to DEATH Valley Orange to take on QB TAJ BOYD and the TIGERS...this could be an SEC/ACC Track Meet on the Scoreboard..."FALL STAURDAY's" as we head to DEATH Valley S.C. #UGADawgs #CLEMSONorange

This will be a battle of attrition as both Georgia and Clemson are in the pre-season Top 10 and have the QBs and the Offense but whose "D" will step up and slow down the others Offense will be the game-winning question. UGA QB Aaron Murray is a four-year starter and a pre-season pick as the #1 QB in the SEC over Johnny Football of 12th Man and McCarron of 'Bama. Can Clemson slow him down as Murray also has running backs in All-SEC 1st Team pre-season selection Todd Gurley and his Caddy Keith Marshall.

The Clemson Tigers have big-athletic QB Taj Boys who is all that in his own right. A 1st team All-ACC pre-season selection he will steer a talented group of Wide outs including all-ACC 1st Team pre-season Stud WR from the state of Florida in Sammy Watkins. Who needs a Run Game when you have "Splash Plays" galore in the Vertical Passing game. This should be a shoot-out with UGA IX  (Georgia English Bulldog Mascot) on Ice as it will be hot and humid.

UGA DAWGS @ CLEMSON from Death Valley S.C.
Saturday August 31, 2013 at 8pm ET

Key Players for UGA

QB Aaron Murray
RB Todd Gurley
RB Keith Marshall
TE Arthur Lynch
OL Chris Burnette
WR Malcolm Marshall
LB Jordan Jenkins
DB Damian Swann

Key Players for CLEMSON

QB Taj Boyd
WR/PR/KR Sammy Watkins
OL Brandon Thomas
OL Tyler Shatley
DB Travis Blanks
PK Chandler Catanzaro

Both Defenses are extremely young and not seasoned and these two senior QBs are in line to pass for a mile. Not to say there is a lot of talent just young talent and someone on these defenses will have to step up and make a play. No three and outs or limited three and outs with the humid and hot weather means 100 plus point combined and the last man standing or team standing in Death Valley Orange. NFL Scouts will be watching as Boys and Murray are two of the top 7-8 QBs in the 2014 NFL Draft Class.

Watch Boyd to Watkins for Clemson and Murray to Marshall and Lynch and those true Soph RBs in Gurley and Marshall.

Game Time 8pm ET

'BAMA rolls into the GEORGIA Dome to take on "BEAMER Ball" Blacksburg and the HOKIES...McCARRON has a Boot on but YELDON and COOPER do not...Can DB "U" and HOKIES D-Coordinator BUD FOSTER slow down SABAN & Company..."FALL SATURDAY's" TIDE vs HOKIES from ATL #RollTide #BeamerBall

The Alabama Crimson Tide start the 2013 seasons in Atlanta as this will be some sort of home game as they are much closer to ATL than the Virginia Tech Hokies. 'Bama comes in with all the Hype and deservedly so as there is no "Hype" Machine in T-Town it's real when talking about the defending National Champs.

The Hokies come unrated but the talent is all over the roster as Usual for "Defensive Back U" and they have one of the best in lead man Frank Beamer the architect of "Beamer Ball". Can they slow down Bama's Power-I Pro Set coming downhill as there is no where else to go but through you? The Hokies have the talent but it's going to take wits and a football IQ on the move as Bama challenges the mind and your "Valentine".

#1 CRIMSON TIDE vs the HOKIES from the Dirty Bird Cage 404
Saturday August 31, 2013 5:30pm ET

Key Players for ROLL TIDE

QB AJ McCarron
RB TJ Yeldon
WR Amari Cooper
OL Cyrus Kouandjio
OL Anthony Steen
TE Brian Vogler
LB CJ Mosley
LB Trey DePreist
DB Ha Ha Clinton-Dix
DL Ed Stinson
DL Xzavier Dickson

Key Players for HOKIES

QB Logan Thomas
LB Jack Tyler
C Andrew Miller
DL James Gayle
DL Derrick Hopkins
DB Antone Exum
DB Kyle Fuller
DB Kyshoen Jarrett
PK Cody Journell

The Tide are simply loaded as I probably could have just said their first 22 players and that would have been their key players. McCarron is far better than just a game-manager as he ha arrived and Cooper along with Men of Troy WR Marqise Lee are future "Monsters on the Outside" (Top NFL Wide Outs" of the future and one A and one B in the Major College ranks. RB Yeldon is a true-Soph and will be running behind that tough and huge O-Line and the Hokies need to man up up front. Va Tech Backer Jack Tyler is the best Backer in the ACC and the leader of that Hokies D.

The Hokies on Offense with all that change on both sides of the Pigskin get 6'8" QB Logan Thomas back and he might have saved "Beamer Ball" from being the Titanic. Can he gets his Draft Stock up and make enough plays to keep 'Bama off balance and score on them to keep thing close? The Hokies are real young in a lot of areas and if anything this is good barometer to see where they are at for a Program Builder with the young guys.

Winner: 'Bama 30-10

Game Time 5:30pm ET

Pirates LIRIANO shuts down that REDBIRDS Offense...BUCCOS First Baseman GARRIT JONES goes O-Zone Layer at the DISH....NL Central all tied up..."WEEKEND BENDERS" TGIF Recap #1...ZOLTAN seen at PNC #BUCCOShardball

The Pirates needed one of their Pitchers to step up and clearly it's a Francisco Liriano Staff. The Buccos Left-hander went eight cruising allowing no runs on two hits as he struck out six and handed out two free passes. Liriano had the Redbirds Hitters off-balance all night long and the offensive help came early.

The Buccos scored a crooked two in their half of the first as Liriano took that and ran with it. Then in the bottom half of the 4th Buccos first baseman Garrit Jones and back stop Russell Martin go back to back Solo Jobs off Redbirds Starter Shelby Miller. Miller went 4 1/3 innings giving up five runs on eight hits as he walked three, struck out two, and gave up those back to back jobs in the fourth. The Redbirds middle relief shut down the Buccos after that but the damage was done.

Jones led the Pirates Offense as he finished the night 3 for 4 with with a run scored and four ribbies. "El Toro" Pirates Hot Corner Pedro Alvarez and "Cutch 22" in Pirates CF AndrewMcCutchen combined to go 0 for 7 but was picked up by Jones and Martin. Holliday led the Redbirds with two hits as Beltran and Craig has the other hits.

The NL Central as we go to press is all tied up at 78-56 and Redbirds Nation and Buccos Nation right the date down as I think this will be the last time they will be tied. The Red Legs lose ground on both as they lose to the Rockies and fall 3 1/2 games back.

the Battle of AL WILD CARD Leaders...the RAYS hit the BLACK Hole for a Three-Piece with the Green-Hot ATHLETICS..."WEEKEND BENDERS" How about chasing the Division Leaders Boys the CARMINES and RANGERS!...#RAYShardball #AsHardball

The Tampa Bays Rays trail the Boston Red Sox in the AL East by 2.5 games and they have been stuck on that number going on a solid two weeks. The Athletics blew the doors off of Comerica Park and the Rangers in turn were blowing the doors off the M's in Safeco. Both the Rays and Athletics are good enough to win their respective divisions and who in Louisville Slugger wants to play in that One-Game playoff after playing 162...no one!

The Athletics will get a standing ovation as they hit the field tonight the problem will be the dud opposing them warming up in the visitors bullpen...LHP David Price. A's RHP Jarrod Parker has been solid and this should be a good opener. Cobb hits the mound in game two versus Gray and TBD for the Rays vs A.J. Griffin for the A's. Don't know where to start talking Tribe and Tigers as combined in their last eight they are 1-7 as the Tribe gets swept in ATL and the Tigers lose three of four to the A's. The Series could have had a bit more Salt and Pepper if the Tribe could have made a little ground. Now the Tribe comes in 6.5 games behind the Tigers and four back in the Wild Card. Two things will happen as the Tigers close the AL Central or the Tribe gets back into the AL Central Race.

NFL ROSTERS need to be at 53 by Saturday August 31, 2013...I PADS will be turned in by Waves and here are some more notable names that didn't get to 53...SUNDAY TALK #NFLJobsOntheLine

The Rosters have to be cut down to 53 by tomorrow 6pm ET and the scramble is one as it looks like a NFL Draft Room fore most of the 32 Teams as we go to press. Some will get axed and the NFL Dream is over. Some will get axed and get picked up by another team. It's Russian Roulette for some players edging out others...that close.

Notable Players as of August 30, 2013

Titans: LB Gary Guyton

Bucs: TE Zach Miller...the former Raider get cut in Camp Schiano and he won't be alone!

Eagles: QB Dennis Dixon and it was a numbers game for him. LB Adrian Robinson who just came over in the Trade from the Steelers (Steelers get RB Felix Jones) is out.

Vikes: DE Lawrence Jackson...an All-American at USC the former Seahawks 1st Rounder back in 2008 is out

Chiefs: QB Ricky Stanzi...the former Iowa Hawkeye Signal-Caller is out in K.C....

Bears: OT J'Marcus Webb after they Bears just told him to take a pay cut a week and a half ago...they give him his walking papers. I wonder if he shoved or punched Cutler on the way out? QB Jordan Palmer the younger Bro of QB Carson Palmer of the Bird Gang is out.

Bills: CB Crezdon Butler the former Steeler Draft Pick is out. QB Matt Lienart also gets cut when  the Bills called him he should have said I pass....been done!

Cardinals: OG Chilo Rachal..a starter for the 49ers back in 2009 and 2010

There will be more....

REDBIRDS back to the scene of the CRIME playing better Hardball than the BUCCOS...CARDS @ PIRATES from the 'Burgh in the Battle for 1st Place in the NL CENTRAL..."WEEKEND BENDERS" Will the Real NL Central Leader stand up! #CARDSbiz #PIRATESbiz

It doesn't get any better than this as the St. Louis Cardinals are back at PNC Park with a game lead as the last time they arrived they left with half a backside left. Playing way better Hardball at this point the Pirates need to step it up as they have been struggling to say the least. Buccos Young Arms like Locke and Cole have seemingly hit that Wall and the Pirated need more than Liriano and Burnett down the stretch. The Redbirds will get the edge in the NL Central heading into September because they have Quality Arms on the hill. This is gut-check time for the Buccos playing at home and in the ditch playing bad baseball.

The Cards will go with Miller and Lynn versus Liriano who in his last outing was lit up and a better than 6-9 A.J. Burnett. Sunday's match up might be predicated on what either teams does on Friday and Saturday. After those two arms the Pirates need Cole and Locke to step up mightily. The Redbirds have Wainright and Kelly among others waiting in the wings.

O's travel to the BRONX Zoo for the Battle of the AL Wild Card...catching the CARMINES and RAYS at this point is not in the CARDS for both..."WEEKEND BENDERS" and you thought we left the BX for 2013...yeah right! #OsHardball #YANKShardball

The O's come in salvaging one out of three in Fenway and the Yankees come "North of the Border" losing two of three to the Blue Birds. Orioles as we go to press is 6.5 games and the Yankees eight games from the AL East leading Carmines. Looking closer and from reality the Wild Card is still on the menu for both as the O's are 3.5 games and the Yanks five back of the #2 Wild Card Leader the Swingin' A's. It is crunch time as we head right into Labor Day 2013 Hardball with the O's and Yanks fight for their "October Hardball" Life.

the ORIOLES cuff them like the "GOOD HANDS People" and get out of FENWAY with the One Win....TILLMAN solid on the HILL...MACHADO and CRUSH tend to the DUCKS on the Pond..."GET AWAY" Day as the O's needed that one like yesterday #CharmCityHardball

The Baltimore Orioles left the Motel with Bags in hand and headed to the Fenway Visitors Clubhouse with one thing on their mind and that was to get a "W" by any means necessary. Chris Tillman goes seven solid innings and Machado and Charm City Favorite "Crush" as in first baseman Chris Davis handled things at the dish. The O's cuff'em like the good hands people and get a much-needed "W" as hey salvage what could have been a horrible ride to the next destination.

The Carmines struck first as they scored one in the bottom half of the 2nd frame and the O's answered right back in the 3rd with a crooked two. The O's then add one in the 5th as Carmines OF Shane Victorino goes Solo Shot in the 6th to close all the scoring in this one. Tillman was otherwise cruising as he yielded two runs on six hits while striking out eight.  O's Captain Save-A-Game Jim Johnson closed the door for the O's getting the save. The O's came up big when they had to and that is a mark of a solid Club and Skip Showalter knew this was a big one as they all are big this late in August heading into Labor Weekend.

Carmines Starter and Ace Jon Lester went six giving up three runs on five hits as he walked three and struck out four. Jacoby Ellsbury and Victorino continue to sizzle in the Fenway Lights as they collect two hits and one was a Solo Job by Shane. Carmines 1b Dan Nava also went 3 for 4 and scored a run as the plot thickens in the AL East.

The Rays miss a chance to close on the carmines as they lose to the Halos. The Lead for the Carmines in the AL East is at 2.5 games. O's leave the Hub six back in the East but 3.5 games out in the AL Wild card behind the Athletics.

A DINOSAUR "North of the Border"...then back near home in MOUSE Town as Numero UNO with one GRANT HILL...joining the MING Dynasty in CLUTCH City with YAO...what happened to TRACY "T-MAC" McGRADY as it's over after Sixteen Seasons in the LOGO #TMacWasABAAAAAAAAAAAADMan

Tracy McGrady's Hype Macbine started when he left his home Auburndale, Florida (just west of Mouse Town) and played at now defunct Mt. Zion Academy Academy in North Carolina (Drop Mount Zion in the Search Box at Bluedude Sportstalk and check out the notable Alum). This is where the man they would eventually call "T-Mac" moved up the Hit Charts on Scholastic Scene nationally. He would forgo entering College and enter the NBA at age 18 and was the 9th overall pick by the Toronto Raptors in the 1997 NBA Draft.

There T-Mac struggled like most do skipping college and he was also dealing with living in Canada which Toronto is a Top 10 City in the World but for a Floridian at 18 years of age...not good! McGrady struggled as he was trying to learn on the fly in fist season until the Raptors drafted 3rd Cousin Vince "Air Canada" Carter of the Tar Heels of UNC by way of Daytona, Florida Mainland HS where Carter was the best Hooper and best Drum Major but that is another story.

In 1998 things started to change when T-Mac and Carter became teammates as T-Mac was a defensive stopper as he was relatively raw offensively and having Carter there was a huge plus as was Carter. One thing they had was they were supremely-athletic and could jump over the Shot Clock. They both flourished and all of a sudden the Raptors were a Hit in Toronto and T-Mac and VINcanity were fast becoming the "Cape Crusaders". It wouldn't be though as T-Mac wouldn't stay with Vince and bolted off to Mouse Town for a chance to play back home in 2000.

It wasn't just T-Mac as he was joining forces with then Piston Free Agent Grant Hill as the O-Magic tried to put things back post-Shaq and Penny Era. T-Mac dazzled as it wasn't meant to be as Grant battled that chronic ankle injury his whole stay in Mouse Town. T-Mac carried the Magic for four seasons and he just couldn't get it done without Grant or major help.

In 2004 T-Mac and the Magic agreed for him to be traded to the Clutch City for then Franchise-type PG Steve Francis and T-Mac was joining Chinese Center Yao Ming and big things were expected. The Rockets played well following T-Mac and Yao's Lead but again as they exited a few playoff series early T-Mac and Yao both would succumb to Injuries. T-Mac Story will forever be known as his Star Teammate or Him being injured at some point at every stop or T-Mac by his lonesome doing work.

Was T-Mac a bonafide Superstar..you bet. Does he have Springfield, Mass-like credentials...Borderline! His impact on the game wasn't on a large scale because he played in a time where the Black Mamba rose up and King James was behind that as T-Mac started to head South because of injuries. Let's take a look at some key numbers for T-Mac to get that NBA HOF Conversation simmering:

2G Tracy McGrady

938 Games played (703 started)
18,381 Points (60th All-Time)
5,276 Rebounds (198th All-Time)
4,161 Assists (89th All-Time)
1,136 Thefts (96th All-Time)

Just looking at some of these numbers McGrady needed at least three to four more seasons of Career-like Years to get over the hump. As much as he impacted the game his numbers are above average but they are not Springfield, Mass-like digits. It's a really tough call as many would say in the early part to the middle of the 2K's it was a T-Mac World as the Scoring Leader. At 6-9 with a handle and a skill set that was above and beyond. Looking at Kobe and even his cousin Vince carter he just wasn't consistent enough over the long-haul.

Many NBA Defenders would tell you though who was tougher to guard when Kobe and T-Mac were both going...over half would say T-Mac with that size and skill set like the Black Mamba. No matter if he gets in or not T-Mac in his Era was one of the best if not the best pure scorer period.

Three Outs away from sweeping a Four-Piece from FISTER, VERLANDER, SANCHEZ, and SCHERZER...A's Captain SAVE-A GAME BALFOUR blows a GASKET as ex-TWINKIES n HALOS Stud OF HUNTER goes Three-Run Walk-Off....the "D" playing the Swingin' TIGERS stun the Swingin' ATHLETICS #MOTORCityHardball

The Oakland Athletics went into as Blue-Collar City with their East Bay Blue-Collar Hat and put in some work and almost took out the AL Central leading Tigers in four straight. With the Tigers down 6-3 in the bottom half of the 9th they put up a crooked four to win it 7-6 off of Torii Hunter's Three-Run Big Fly. All that drama off one of the best closers in the Show Grant Balfour who blows Save #2 and falls to (0-3) but has 33 saves out of 35 chances and that won't happen again like only a Top-Shelf Closer would tell you.

The A's jumped all over the AL's leading Cy Young Candidate "Mad Max of Comerica" and he was nothing but mad after this one. Scherzer allowed eight hits and six runs and two bombs as both Jed Lowrie and Brandon Moss hit two-run Bombs off of Scherzer. He didn't have his stuff as the A's were determined to send a message to the Tigers with the four-game sweep. Athletics 14-game winner Bartolo Colon was automatic giving up one run through five innings on seven hits. Colon was in line for the Decision until that A's Pen blew it up.

Before Torii's Heroics the Tigers Offense was supplied by Prince Fielder (3 for 4 w/ 3 runs n 1 RBI) and Victor Martinez (3 for 5 w/ 1 RBI). One of Prince's Hits was a Solo Shot off A's Middle Reliever Jerry Blevins.

Now the Tigers will host the AL Central's #2 Team the Tribe and at least they have a "W" under their belt. The Tribe will come in six back as they dropped their last two games in ATL vs the Braves. A s hot as the Athletics were the AL West leading Rangers are just as hot as they swept the M's in 206 for a three game lead over the A's. A's did pick up some games in the Wild Card which is comforting to know.

"A QB DRIVEN League" Dinner Reservations for TWO and for FOUR...9pm ET and 10pm ET...BIRD Gang @ UNITED in Orange at 9....49ERS @ BOLTS and RAIDERNation @ 12th Man SPACE Needle 206 at 10 #NFLPreSeasonWk4

Three games late after thirteen games will have already started or ended. The Cards travel 5,280 feet above sea level to tackle the Manning Mile High and the New Orange Crush. The Late Slate features Two Tables as first we have the Niners traveling to the Murph to play the Bolts. Then the Raiders head to the Great Northwest and play the Hawks with Undercover Police throughout the Hawks Nest 206...behave Team Seahawk Green.

CARDINALS @ BRONCOS

The Cards Secondary will get tested and that is a good test before the games start counting. Manning Mile High will have his methodical approach as usual and the Broncos need to find them a number one back. The Cards will work against a Von Miller-less "D" as the Bird Gang have kept that Vertical Passing game pretty vanilla under the "Mad Bomber" in Lead Man Bruce Arians. The NFC West is Top-Heavy and the Cards look to be in the mix somehow someway. The Broncos were early Big Bowl Favorites and they get that Red Jersey Collector "Super Steve Erkel" in Von Miller back after Week 6.

49ERS @ CHARGERS

The Niners have so many weapons you need a program to see who made catch, tackle, or who was running, There will be plenty of teams looking to see who the Niners cut as they are deeper than anyone in Quality Depth. The Chargers have a look like they always have a look like they are going to be world beaters. Is Rivers fixed, can they get Ryan Mathews through 16, and that D...is it good enough to beat the Broncos and Chiefs?

RAIDERS @ SEAHAWKS

All eyes will be on former Ohio State QB Terrelle Pryor as Operation Flynn might have to head to Big D in time for the LSU Tigers and TCU Horned Frog Game. Flynn reportedly has another year left in Baton Rouge as he needs a NFL Do-Over...Lol! The Seahawks Run Game looks like in the Pre-Seasons they need to get tested for "Skittles" as all three backs are capable led by yours truly "Taste the Rainbow" #24 from East Bay and Cal Berkeley RB Marshawn Lynch. They should be hitting heads early as this use to be the AFC West Rivalry involving them big bad 80s Raiders and the Seattle Kingdome Seahawks.

"A QB DRIVEN League" 8pm ET Auditions...DAWG Pound @ SOLDIER Field...Battle of the LONE STAR State...PACK @ ARROWHEAD...TITANS @ SKOL Nation...Purple BROWNS @ RAMS #NFLPreSeasonWk4

The 8pm ET Game Slate is action-packed with five tilts including the "Battle of the Lone Star State" the Texans visit Jerry's House and dem' Cowboys. Plus the "2005 NFL Draft Class" A-Rog versus "Alex trying to be Great" for the Chiefs n more.

BROWNS @ BEARS

Browns QB Brandon Weeden is coming around and they are super-thin at RB and he needs all of RB Trent Richardson as the two Backs behind him are done for 2013. Weeden nor T-Rich will get much time in this one. Bears looking at Wide Outs as WR Brandon Marshall continues to nurse Hip. Browns and Bears "D" looks to be in mid-season form. QB Cutler is in a contract year watch out and he has to be a fantasy must-have in middle rounds as he chases "A QB Driven League" Duffel Bags...See Matty Ice and Ordinary Joe's new Direct Deposits!

TEXANS @ COWBOYS

For a series or two the Texans and Cowboys will test each other pout as the Texans are clearly the best in the Lone Star State. Texans QB "Cotton" Schaub and Dre Johnson look to be in 2013 Week 8. Romo to Dez should be the Cowboys Entree and maybe Desert or App as well. The Run Games are crucial as Ben Tate is a #1 playing behind Arian Foster and that is Lloyd's of London Live and on the Depth Chart for the Texans...Grade-A Insurance for Foster. RB Murray of the Cowboys needs to stay healthy. Depth Chart after 1st period and there will be some battles.

PACKERS @ CHIEFS

A-Rog visits and old pal that left him in the Green Room as fittingly enough Mike McCarthy was on the 49ers when they drafted Smith over A-Rog. Probably won't see much of both if any. Smith looked better versus the Steelers than he did the week before vs the 49ers. The Packers "D" looks fast and that Chiefs "D" will be Top 5 and I don't care what your thoughts are on that! Packers RB Depth a question as well as O-Line but Ted Thompson (Packers GM) has seen this before. Chiefs can jump out the gate on the Broncos looking ahead with Von Miller out until Week 7.

TITANS @ VIKINGS

Both Locker and Ponder have to make tremendous strides in order for their Teams to be successful. Yes they both have Backs (A.P. and CJ2K) but they have to make plays in the Vertical Game. They should both play into the 2nd quarter just because they need the reps. The Book is till out on the Titans "D" but the Vikes "D" will be tough as they iron out their D-Line and Backer Situations.

RAVENS @ RAMS

Both QBs should be out in this one as you have two physical and attacking defenses in this one. The Ravens need to figure out who there Go-To-WRs will be and is it Ed Dickson, Torrey Smith, and Jacoby Jones and who is behind them Dallas Clark and Brandon Stokely? RBs Ray Rice and Bernard Pierce will get a heavy dose in the run game and should. The "D" is faster but don't listen to Flacco is he is more than happy Ed, Edd, and Eddy along with Ray Ray are long gone.

Rams are better than what everyone is giving them credit for,. They are super-fast on "D" with bookends Chris Long and Robert Quinn. That Secondary will be really good to with Cortland Finnegan and Janoris Jenkins. The Offense is still hiding it's potential as no one has tape on 2013 top pick Tavon Austin and he doesn't have tape on himself. Let the Depth Chart work in this one or it will look like November Football leaving the ones in to battle.

"A QB DRIVEN League" 730pm ET Final Auditions...JAGS at ANGRY Birds 404...WHO DAT @ AQUA Boyz 305...GENTS @ PATS...#HTTR @ #ItsABucsLife #NFLPreSeasonWk4

The 730pm ET Game Times and a few QBs might not even get a snap as its the usual for the last game in pre season as everyone is watching who makes the cut and who doesn't as Teams are looking to fill that 53.

JAGUARS @ FALCONS

What we know is that new Jags Lead Man Gus Bradley has names a Starter in QB Blaine Gabbert but Chad Henne will try to light up the night versus the Falcons. 2013 Pick and former QB Denard Robinson should get more than a few looks in this one. #2 overall pick Luke Joeckel will be a staple for years to come as the Jags try to build inside out. RB "Pocket Hercules" most likely will be out but ready for Week 1. WR Justin Blackmon needs to have a breakout 2nd year.

The Falcons if they have any questions it might be at Cornerback as the youngsters are all over the Depth Chart in Rookie CBs in Bloodline Desmond Trufant and Robert Alford have looked the part. Offensively the Angry Birds 440 are more than ready.

SAINTS @ DOLPHINS

Lead Man Payton and QB Brees are locked in and in mid-season form. The Saints Achilles heel is the Defensive Front and losing OLB Will Smith (Knee) for 2013 after losing 2013 prized FA OLB Victor Butler for 2013 will take its toll. The Depth there has been hit and look for the Saints to be active when trying to get to 53 for Rush Backers or Rush Ends.

The Phins have to replace TE Dustin Keller and has RB Lamar Miller lost his job? Wide outs Hartline and Wallace need a #3. On "D" they say 2013 Top Pick Dion Jordan will be ready and we will see here shortly. That revamped Dolphins "D" looks to be better in 2013 as they have some moving parts.

GIANTS @ PATRIOTS

No Eli or Tom or maybe for a series or two. With Nicks back in the fold and Cruz resting the G-Men are ready on Offense. The Secondary was hit with the loss of Safety Stevie Brown with a Torn ACL and out for 2013. Look for 2013 FA Pick Up Ryan Mundy from the Steelers to step right in and fill the void.

The Patriots need to quit putting the Pigskin on the ground as Tom Terrific looks for his go-to Wide outs. The Pats O-Line has struggled and its just doesn't look like the same Pats by any stretch.

#HTTR @ #ItsABucsLife

In the best NFL Hash Tags Game as the 'Skins Kirk Cousins and Rex Grossman have been tearing up the competition. The only question  for the "Skins moving forward will RG3 be ready for Week 1. He says he is and the "Skins say so as well and we will find out here shortly.

The Bucs might put Revis Island out there for a test Run and why not. Lead Man Schiano has put some unwarranted pressure on QB Josh Freeman in a Contract Year and that could be because they know he is not the guy. Freeman has to prove them wrong as he has major talent around him. Bucs Secondary looks the part led by @theHAWK38 Safety Dashon Goldson.

JADEVEON CLOWNEY and the 'COCKS open up at William-Brice in Columbia vs the TAR HEELS of UNC...the CLOWNEY 4 HEISMAN Watch start Tonight as the 'COCKS are #6 in the ESPN College Poll...FALL SATURDAY's is back! #COCKSfootball #HEELSfootball

There is no secret Football Heads are oozing for some football whether it is Pro or College and look what the wind blew in for a Thursday Night Opening College Football Game. The South Carolina Gamecocks host the UNC Tar Heels and it's the Ole' Ball Coach Steve Spurrier with the highest pre season rating yet with all those expectations versus an underrated Heels outfit. What to look for in the opener for Major College Football.

TAR HEELS @ 'COCKS from Columbia, S.C.

Top Players to watch for UNC

QB Bryne Renner
OT James Hurst
TE Eric Ebron
DE Kareem Martin
S Tre Boston
P Tommy Hibbard

Top Players to watch for USC Columbia

QB Connor Shaw
DL Jadeveon Clowney (pictured right)
TE Rory Anderson
OL AJ Cann
DL Kelcy Quarles
 KR/PR Bruce Ellington

The Heels are picked by many analysts to finish 4th in the Coastal Division and they are cemented into Larry Fedora's Offensive System as they lost some Stars especially RB Giovanni Bernard to the Bengals in the 2nd round. If there is a concern it's on D as the Offense should put up points.

The 'Cocks are picked by may to challenge the Georgia Bulldogs and Florida Gators for the SEC East as all three teams are pre season Top 10 and that is life and the norm in the SEC. The Hype machine is centered around Man-Child DE Jadeveon Clowney and rightfully so as he is more than Hype. The "D" will be real good as Clowney should have a tackle, Guard, Center, Tight End, and RB blocking and chipping him simultaneously on every snap. That should free up another 'Cocks Monster to make all sorts of plays. QB Connor Shaw has been doing this for awhile and that Offense should run rather smoothly.

Game Time is tonight at 6pm ET and the "Clowney Watch" starts at Bluedude Sportstalk right now!

Pittsburgh Steelers...#PITvsCAR...TRIPLE DIAMOND Chronicles Game Day Pre Season GM #4...BIG BEN will see minimal action and so should CAM of CAROLINA...Steelers QB JONES should get major work...Steelers crowded BACKERS and SECONDARY Battles for 53 ongoing...#NFLPreSeasonWk4 #3DiamondChronicles #STEELERgang

The Pittsburgh Steelers at least for their psyche would like to put on in the right column as three have been in the wrong column. Lead Man Tomlin needs to see his number ones get in be efficient and then get out. Big Ben needs to get Points with that Offense ASAP and the "D" needs to get a few three and outs or no points scored on them. The Panthers QB Cam will get little work as that Panthers "D" number ones need to ditto the Steelers "D" numbers ones. They call it Team Building and the Steelers have the Music City Titans in their sights in Week 1.

What to Look for from the #MenOfSTEEL

Big Ben and that O-Line need to get a Drive or Two to get in sync for Week1. The Run Game led by Jonathan Dwyer and Red Dawg Redman need some carries as well as new RB Felix Jones.

Tight End is an area of concern for the Steelers and David Paulson needs to step up as FB/TE David Johnson looks to be close to ready.

That Offensive Set with Versatile 2nd year O-Lineman Kelvin Beachum lined up eligible is a nice look as the Steelers look to get back to Power Football and its starts up front.

The Wide outs are ready to go as Tone 2.0 and Go Go Sanders are more than ready as Rookie Wheaton is coming on as well as #14 Derek Moye and #15 Justin Brown. Moye, Wheaton, and Brown will get major work and Brown and Moye long looks.

The Kicking Game Battle with Punters Drew Butler and Brain Moorman will play itself out and may already have.

2013 Undrafted Rookie Reggie Dunn needs to get some touched in the Kick Return and Punt Return Game...

The D-Line is improved and 2012 Pick NT Alameda Ta'amu might be on the clock and this could be his last dress rehearsal as a Steeler.

A Battle is going on at Backers between Chris Carter, Marshall McFadden, Vince Williams, Alan Baxter, Brian Rolle, Kion Wilson, and Terence Garvin. The Steelers will most likely keep five of the seven with Backer Sean Spence going to the PUP List.

The Secondary has some promising folks and this will be the toughest cuts with the likes of Safeties Robert Golden, Damon Cromartie-Smith, and Ross Ventrone as 2013 4th rounder Shamarko Thomas is in the building and he can play.

At Corner Josh Victorian, Isaiah Green, 2013 Draft Pick Terry Hawthorne, and 2013 FA Pick Up Devin Smith as the Steelers will have trouble deciding and this game might decode a few players fate.

What to look for from the #Panthers....That is Carolina Panthers Business!

Onto Week 1 Steelers Nation as it's game to game as we will let the Steelers Play sort them out for 2013!

"A QB DRIVEN LEAGUE" 7pm ET Final AUDITIONS...RESTORE the Roar @ #BILLSmafia...BLUE Swagger @ the JUNGLE on the OHIO...BIRDS @ Met Life GREEN #NFLPreSeasonWk4

The Final Auditions are here as well as that Check List for things to get done before Week 1 in the NFL. We tackle the 7pm ET Kick Offs with a check on whose the QB in Bison City, Luck vs the Strawberry Rifle Dalton, and Vick and Foles going up against Geno Smith playing Akili Smith, and Matt Simms...did I miss anyone...Lol?

LIONS @ BILLS

The Lions took apart the Pats but it's the Pre-Season. Lions QB Staff looks the part of taking the next step and trying to get the Lions back into the "Fight for Vince".  MEGAtron needs a Caddy and Limo Driver and that would be a #2 Wide out and a Run Game as Nate Burlison and Reggie "619" Bush. Can QB Kellen Moore beat out Shaun Hill or will the Lions keep two QBs?

The Bills are still 50/50 on starting Rookie QB EJ Manuel as 2013 undrafted Rook QB Jeff Tuel of WAZU might get the call. The Bills need to make up their minds and regardless they need to start it with RB CJ Spiller. That "D" is loaded up front with Marcel Dareus and Kyle Williams and can they be dominant?

COLTS @ BENGALS

We know one thing is going to end in this one Hard Knocks which has been more than entertaining now Bengals since your the loudest one in the room...get to that Mountain Top in 2013. The QBs Luck and Dalton won't get that much work as they need to be ready for Week 1. The Battles on the Depth Chart are everywhere as the Bengals have some interesting decisions to make. Both Teams are ready to Rock and Roll for 2013. Getting to that 53-Man Roster will be tough for both as there is some quality in Depth.

EAGLES @ JETS

Bloodline Matt Simms (Son of ex-G-Men QB Phil Simms) will get the start as they need to get Geno Smith as many reps as possible after last week. QB SANchise won't be available and the Jets are looking everywhere evaluating that Roster as they try to get down to 53 with the mess former GM Mike Tannebaum left. Players win games period we can talk schematically 24-7-365 its called talent and the Jets are lacking in most area.

The Eagles will get Vick a few snaps and Foles will get some work as well as Matt Barkley. The Birds have a plethora of QBs and will most likely keep three which means Dennis Dixon could be the odd man out. The Birds still need to work some kinks out on "D" and they should get plenty of chances to make plays versus Gang Green.

It's a QB Driven League and that's the Story Line in two out of three of these contests.

Aug 28, 2013

CHARM City Hardball did everything right Wednesday at FENWAY Park but get that "W"...solid Starting Pitching, CRUSH n M2 go Yard, and a Lead into the 7th...RESULTS...CARMINES strike with Late Front Page News...A CUP of JOE in the SHOW Report "HUMP Day Madness near the GREEN Monster" #BOSTONKingCrabHardball

The Baltimore Orioles might want to get late room service in Bean Town and avoid any Late-Night Eateries and Water Holes as they lose one they shouldn't have. The Carmines looked dead in the Boston Harbor on this night but there is something cooking in the Pot of boiling Boston King Crab called Boston Strong and AL East and Junior Circuit...watch out!

The O's and Skip Showalter couldn't have wrote a better script as they jump on Carmines Starter John Lackey early with a run in the 1st, a Manny "M2" Machado Solo Bomb in the 3rd, and #47 off the Ash of "Crush" Davis as the Carmines get one in the 3rd. Adding those Totals up as "Crush" goes Yard in the 6th the Carmines were down in their half of the 7th 3-1 then...

The Captain of the "Fenway Smurfs" and the Leader of the Carmines second baseman Dustin Pedroia strikes with a crucial game-tying 2-run single in the 7th to tie the score. Then with the Carmines faithful standing up Pinch-Hitter Mike carp gets MLB's Hardest name to spell (well the name with the most letter A's in a last name) Carmines Back Stop Jarrod Saltalamacchia scores the game-winner and the Carmines win 4-3. Carmines Closer Koji Uehara of Japan rolls the credits on the O's as this one might comeback to haunt them losing the first two of a three-game set.

The O's messed up a quality start from Bud Norris as he went 5 1/3 innings giving up four hits and allowing just one run as he walked four but struck out seven. The Carmines Starter Lackey hung in there to his credit as before Tommy John he was a Bull and still is. Lack went 7 1/3 giving up three runs on seven hits as he struck out two and walked one. He did give up the two Bombs to Machado and "Crush" Davis.

The Carmines now move up 7 1/2 on the O's and stay 2 1/2 up on the 2nd place Rays as the Bombers are 8 1/2 out. In the Wild Card the O's drop behind the Tribe in 4th as the Rays and A's still lead. O's will need to get game three to to stay close to the leaders in both the East and Wild Card.

RED LEGS play "JACK in the BOX" and pop out with a TEN-Piece Family Pack on the REDBIRDS...Who else was talking Sweep?...WAINRIGHT Who?..."GET AWAY" Day "REDBIRDS Nation slow your roll it's still August" #DUSTYball

The Red Legs didn't need top have any more meeting or Skip Dusty telling Folks they put their pants on and lace them up just like we do. Well Wainright didn't put his pants on or lace his Scooby Doos up as the Red Legs play "Jack in the Box" and wham!...a Ten-Piece on Get Away Day for the Red Legs.

Red Legs Starter Homer Bailey didn't need to throw a No No as he just had to keep throwing ground ball outs and being consistent hitting his spots. The Red Legs Offense put up a crooked six in the 1st and a crooked three in the 2nd as the Redbirds Faithful stayed until it was last call for Suds in the bottom of the 7th. To make matters worse the Red Legs lit up Redbirds Ace Adam Wainright and gave him his worse outing of 2013. Wainright's Line was nine runs on eight hits as he walked two struck out two and gave up a three-run shot to Red Legs OF Jay Bruce. All that damage was done in just two innings and that my friends means Wainright left the premises before the Redbirds got to the 7th Inning Stretch.

Red Legs Offense was out put was provided by Mr. Bruce who had five ribbies as he went 2 for 4 with two runs scored and that three-run souvenir. He has two caddy's in Red Legs Second baseman Brandon Phillips and Shortstop Zach Cozart who each had two hits. The Redbirds could only muster five hits in the contest as Red Legs Starter Bailey went 7 1/3 innings allowing no ducks to cross the dish on five hits as he walked two and struck out seven.

The Red Legs showed up for the Three-piece down 2 1/2 and leave down 3 1/2 as the Buccos get a 1/2 game back and they are just a 1/2 game back of the Redbirds as the NL Central will go down to the last week for all three parties involved....Red Legs, Buccos, and Redbirds. October is now in the NL Central!

RANGERS keep rolling as they pound out TWELVE Hits and score SEVENTEEN Runs as they left No DUCKS on the POND in 206...M's Ace KID FELIX gets "Chopped and Screwed" and that rarely happens..."GET AWAY" Day "Young PEREZ putting in Work behind stellar Run Support" #TEXAS817hardball

The Texas Rangers came into today's contest with the M's out of the Motel 2 1/2 games up on the Athletics in the West and just 1/2 game back of the Carmines for the Junior Circuit best W-L. The M's are done for 2013 as they are going Operation "Bring the Kids Up to Play" for a nice Cup of Joe in the Show.

The Rangers wasted no time in their 12-4 romp as they put up crooked numbers in the 2nd through the 5th frames as everyone got in on the act. The big hit was Rangers CF Leonys Martin's three-run bomb to start the scoring in the 2nd and they should have called the dogs off then. Martin was joined by a two-run blast from Rangers Star Hot Corner Adrian Beltre and a Solo Bomb from Mitch Moreland. That was all that young Rangers Pitcher Martin Perez would need as he goes six allowing two runs on five hits.

The M's "Kid Felix" was hit hard as he was chased off the Bump after three and giving up nine runs on eleven hits and only striking out two. M's Middle Reliever Brandon Maurer left the flood gates open in the Puget Sound by getting tapped for three runs on six hits in four. If i were the M's I would honestly shutdown "Kid Felix" and cut them meaningful Innings as I know you mess with the integrity of the Show but everyone else is starting to watch Innings and he is a High-End Proven Commodity.

Rangers look the part as that Starting Rotation and their line up is as god as any on the Junior Circuit they just have to hold off those Swingin' Athletics.

"A Whole New BLUE" behind BIG FLIES from HANLEY and ETHIER support NOLASCO's Gem as the cruise past Team WRIGLEYVILLE Hardball..."GET AWAY" Day "DODGERS on time for Hump Day DINNER Reservations" #LADHardball

After the Cubbies went right after Dodgers Ace Kershaw and beat him last night the Dodgers Ricky Nolasco says enough was enough. Behind Solo Big Flies from Hanley Ramirez and Andre Ethier the Dodgers roll the North Siders as the head to the Charter at LAX...4-0 with a Goat, a Cat, Bartman, and "In Theo We Trust" riding First Class.

Dodgers struck early on Hanley's Solo Shot with two out over Cubs Starter Edwin Jackson to make it 1-0. They made 2-0 when Dodgers OF Andre Ethier took Jackson deep for #10 on another Solo Big Fly. The "Boys in Blue" get two more in the 5th inning as that was more than enough for Dodgers Starter Ricky Nolasco. Nolasco went eight innings of shut out hardball allowing a free pass and striking out 3 2/3 innings (11) of Cubs Hitters. Cubs Starter Jackson didn't fare as well going 6 2/3 innings allowing four runs on six hits and those two Solo Shots. The Cubs for the most part have been playing descent hardball and they need to make a move in 2014.

The Dodgers are nine up on the D-Backs in the NL West and just two back of the prize in the Tomahawks Shop 404...the Atlanta Braves as they have the best W-L on the Senior Circuit.

With another AL TRIPLE-CROWN on his mind "MIGGY of the D" leads the Top RUN-PRODUCERS as we look into the Top 10 RBI Leaders on the Junior Circuit in "NOW at the DISH" #RIBBIESonMyMind #DUCKSonThePond

Miguel Cabrera is at it again as he leads the MLB and AL World at the Dish with some mind-bottling numbers. Miggy as we go to press comes in 1st with some 130 Ribbies to go with all those other numbers. Who on the Junior Circuit is challenging Miggy in Runs Batted In?

The Top 10 RBI Leaders in the AL as of August 28, 2013...

1. Miggy #Tigers 130 (Protector Prince 90 RBI)

2. Crush Davis #Os 118 (Protector Adam Bombs 95 RBI)

3. Encarnacion #BlueBirds 97 (Protector Jose Bats 73 RBI)

4. Adam Bombs #Os 95

5. Prince #Tigers 90

6. Cano #Yankees 85 (Played with No Protection)

7. Trumbo #Halos 84

8. Trout #Halos 81 (Protector Trumbo 84 RBI)

9. Beltre #Rangers 79 (Protector Cruz 76 RBI/ now Rios)

9. Dunn Pale Hose 79 (No Protection/Rios n Konerko off year)

9. Big Papi Ortiz #Carmines 79 (Protector Napoli 74 RBI)

It isn't rocket science as you see ho it works with some of he best Duos at the Dish in 2013. Pitch around Miggy...Prince hurts you. Pitch around "Crush"...Adam Bombs hurts you and so on and so forth. That Protection in the line up is crucial and if the player behind (Protector) is just as lethal as the one they are pitching to...you will get the Express and more pitches to hit unless they play the numbers game. In case of the Tigers they would rather see Prince than Miggy and that isn't a knock on Prince its just all about the Numbers an what bases are open.

The Halos Stick of Dynamite "TnT" in Trumbo and Trout are the Future for the Halos and they are a menacing bunch as combined they do it all...bombs, hit for average, runs, ribbies, two-baggers, three-baggers, and thefts.

Beltre had Nelson Cruz until he was suspended so the Rangers go get Protector #2 in a good one for the next two season in ex-Pale Hose versatile OF Alex Rios and the rangers have not skipped a beat.

Dunn has had a solid year but Konerko on the end of his career and no real "Protector" in that line up. Rios was hitting the ball like in 2012 as he dropped in the line up.

Big Papi has been doing it for years and the Carmines went out and piked up ex-Ranger Mike Napoli and he is the perfect Bodyguard in the line up for the Carmines. He is coming up the rear with 74 Ribbies as "Big Papi has 79 Ribbies.

Freeeeeeeeeee JOHNNY Football!...Will JOHNNY FOOTBALL bite the PIGSKIN as it's "JOHNNY Football vs the NCAA" in the "Next 144 HOURS" counting back to Last Sunday (a reported Meeting with the NCAA) and game time this week and you know who always wins...FALL SATURDAY's is Back with more than just Football...it's the "JOHNNY Football Witch Hunt" #GoAGGIES #GoCoachSUMLIN #GoJohnnyFootball

I knew it was going to get messy back when they showed the Heisman Winner at a Mavs Game, them a Heat Game, then a #RedNation Rockets Game. The Student-Athlete who went on a whirlwind tour because he and his Family have the "Dead Presidents" to do so. So why is the NCAA investigating and I know there is speculation of Cash maybe involved. This could be a landmark case just because other student-athletes have gotten suspended or things taken away from them for less not saying "Johnny Football" is guilty.

Look...so many "Gray Areas" and not enough scenarios to explain them all and look really hard. We are talking about a young man who is in that 18-21 age range like most of the student-athletes and the NCAA has a hand in everything they do...everything.  I am surprised there is not a Compliance Officer doing bed-check every night including in the summertime like a P.I..

Move this whole issue back to the 80s and 95% of this would have never came up but it's all about Social Media. Maybe the lesson learned is with Google Plus, Facebook, Twitter, INSTAgram, and many others Social Media Platforms...the NCAA should take that away and put that other the other One Million Rules they have. It's 2013 things evolve NCAA and so should you. Grab that cash under your Mattress and in the Shoe Box on top of the Sub-Zero NCAA and PAY these Players some sort of Stipend and some of these issues might go away. I am already pissed there will be no more EA Sports College Football.

BREW CREW playing good Hardball as the BUCCOS can't stop the Bleeding..."A-RAM" ARAMIS RAMIREZ comes back to get his Old Squad in the Big Bank Branch "PNC"...A CUP of JOE in the SHOW Report...C'mon PIRATES believe in ZOLTAN #BrewCrewHardball

The Pittsburgh Pirates have hit a tough stretch but there is still time as we have a little over a month left of Hardball. The Pirates open a home stand and lose to the Milwaukee Brewers as the Brew Crew try to play spoiler to everyone in their path.

The Brewers get their Offense from ex-Bucs and North Sider in Hot Corner Aramis Ramirez as he goes O-Zone Layer on the Pirates. A-Ram as he was called in Wrigleyville hit a Solo HR and went 4 for 5 with four ribbies as he scored one run. The Brew Crew scored in five innings including putting up a crooked three in the 5th.

The Pirates had their chances as their bug guns showed up with Second Baseman Neil Walker leading going 2 for 5 with a huge three-run HR in the 5th to answer the Brew Crew's top half of that inning. "Cutch 22" was 2 for five and "El Toro" Pedro Alvarez went 4 for 4 including a Solo Bomb in the 8th but it wasn't enough.

Pirates All-Star Pitcher Jeff Locke was touched up again in 4 2/3 innings allowing five runs on eight hits as he walked two and struck out four. The Pirates need those young arms to step up and after about 25 plus outings those Innings start to take its toll on the Arm and not making excuses. Brewers late 2013 Free Agent Pick Up Kyle Loshe wasn't much better as he was swallowed after 5 1/3 innings giving up five runs on thirteen hits as he struck out two and gave no free passes.

The Pirates now fall a game back of the Redbirds in the NL Central as they still have a hold on the #1 Wild Card Slot. The Brew Crew is running on "I am a Major-Leaguer...so play like one and finish strong".

Tigers get VERLANDER off the Hook in the 1st Frame but the 2K13 VERLANDER can't hold it down as the RAIN was the only thing that stopped the A's on this night...ATHLETICS strike again and 2-0 in the Four-Piece with the AL Central Beast...A CUP of JOE in the SHOW Report...Who wants to play the Swingin' A's?

The Detroit Tigers have all those arms going in their four game set with he Athletics but the A's didn't get the memo or just do not care. After scoring two in the top half of the fist frame and the Tigers getting Verlander off the hook in the bottom half the A's go onto beat Verlander and the Tigers again in Comerica.

A's Starter Tommy Milone goes the distance in this rain-shortened affair and beats the Tigers and Justin Verlander. Milone goes five giving up three runs on three hits as he struck out three and handed out as many free passes. With the score tied in the top half of the 5th Verlander knew he couldn't make a mistake and paid for one from A's RF Brandon Moss as he goes 2-run HR to push the lead to 5-3 A's with Mother Nature ready to roll credits.

Verlander went five and allowing five runs on four hits as he struck out three and walked three as he has to be kicking himself about that two-run bomb in the 5th. Moss and A's SS Jed Lowrie knocked in four of the A's six runs. Prince Fielder of the Tigers knocks in two of the three Tiger Runs. With the win the A's stay right on the rangers tail still just two of the AL West pace. The Tigers keep their 5 1/2 game lead as the Tribe gets shout out in ATL 2-0.

There had to be one out there as the Bluedude Sportstalk Sports Blotter has been dry of late. Then we had the O's coming into Fenway for what we thought would be a tightly played series. TRIBE heads to the TOMAHAWK Shop 404 and they are right in the middle of the AL Race...BRAVES trying to secure the SENIOR Circuit's Best W-L for the "Fight for OCTOBER"...A CUP of JOE in the SHOW Report "A quiet but meaningful Inter League 3-Piece"

The Cleveland Indians come into the 404 down 5 1/2 to the AL Central leading Tigers but are just two back in the AL Wild Card to the Swingin' Athletics. The Tribe have quietly stayed close and they are a good week and the Tigers  bad week from making things really interesting in the Central...watch out Tigers!

The Braves have the NL East on their terms and it has been that way since early August. Having said all of that they still are in the hunt with the Dodgers, Redbirds, Buccos, and Red Legs for the NL's Best W-L and that is crucial in October Hardball. A very quiet series but has big time ramification in both leagues especially the Junior Circuit.

The Bats should be out in game one with two youngsters out there on the bump trying to get rid of the nerves. Tribe Ace Masterson will get game two with Jimenez getting game three as the Braves will counter with Maholm and a still struggling Kris Medlen. If either team has an Achilles Heel it's the Starting Pitching.

Does DODGERS Ace CLAYTON KERSHAW have a Pad Lock on the 2013 NL CY YOUNG ...slow your roll as he has Elite Company..."Give Me the RIGHTY or LEFTY" whose the other four that can stake claim to the Hardware on the BUMP?....#2K13NLCyYoungAwardRace

The Dodgers Ace LHP Clayton Kershaw has all the numbers to stake claim to his 2nd NL Cy Young Award and now the 2013 Win Total is reaching the top of the Senior Circuit. Don't put Mr. Kershaw in the Winners Circle yet as the race has is just now turning the corner for the Finish albeit it might not be a Photo Finish. There are a few names that have had and are having Cy Young-Like Years and Kershaw needs to sat consistent and tack on a few more in the Left Column.

The 2013 NL Cy Young Race in Order...and as we go to press the race resides in KershawVille City Limits

1. Clayton Kershaw #BoysInBlue (13-7) 1.72 ERA 188 SO 198.1 IP Opp Avg .182

Kershaw has amped it up in the last two months and has been virtually untouchable. He is among the Tops in K's, Opponents Hitting Average against him, Innings pitched, and that ERA is #1 in the Show. It is his Cy Young Award to lose and the way things are in KershawVille USA get the Presser ready.

2. Adam Wainright (pictured left) #Redbirds (15-7) 2.58 ERA 182 SO 198.2 IP Opp Avg .244

You could argue in some areas but looking at it closely minus the ERA and Opponents Average against him Wainright is a real close 2nd place. His 15 W's tops the Senior Circuit and he eats innings and like the Dodgers the Cards are mowing down the opposition as Wainright is the Ace of a really solid staff. Could he make a run late to grab some meaningful votes to persuade the argument?

3. Patrick Corbin #DBacks (13-4) 2.79 ERA 154 SO 177.2 IP Opp Avg .216

He was stuck on nine W's for the longest but has bounced back of late and put up three straight and all of a sudden Corbin is back in the conversation. An ERA under three as he eats up innings and opponents average against him is just over the Mendoza Line. I think it's a two-man Race now and Corbin is the start of tier #2.

4. Zack Greinke #BoysInBlue (13-3) 2.86 ERA 112 SO 141.2 IP Opp Avg .242

I know what your thinking the Bluedude is all over that Dodgers Train well those of you asking that need to get hold of the Hitters that face Greinke and they would tell you he is just as Nasty. He hasn't pitched enough Innings but those 13 wins and the Momentum to be north of 17-18 wins is possible. That ERA and Innings will go up as the Strike Outs will and no one on the Senior Circuit wants to face Dodger Blue in the "Fight for October" and if you said yes...your fooling yourself!

5. Matt Harvey #Amazins (9-5) 2.27 ERA 191 SO 178.1 IP Opp Avg .209

I would have had Harvey at #2 but it's the Wins as the Mets lack of Run Support when he is on the Bump has cost this Stud at least 5 W's. Now he is out until maybe 2015 if h gets Tommy John Surgery you cannot take away what he did in 2013 as he is True #1 and for him to grab the Hardball when he felt that Pain a month ago shows the "Dawg" in him. If there is no "Dawg" in you you won't be on this list or the Bluedude's List. Big Fella the Bluedude will see you soon and then you will be better than ever like a Cyborg throwing high 90s with the Express.....Mets Nation Stand Up for Mr. Harvey and you still have Zack Wheeler another Ace in the Hole!

CRUSH, ADAM Bombs, and CHARM City Hardball head to the Demons of FENWAY for a Three-Piece with the CARMINES...RED SOX fresh off winning a Series in CHAVEZ Ravine...A CUP of JOE in the SHOW Report "LABOR Day Hardball is near"

If someone asked the Baltimore Orioles that in late August you will be 5 1/2 out in the AL East and under three games in the Wild Card Skip Showalter and the O's would say that's a solid year with work to do and we will take it. The O's now face a head to head match up with the Team they are chasing in the AL East the Boston Red Sox and they have confidence. The Carmines are coming off taking two of three versus the "Boys in Blue" in Chavez Ravine and no one has done that in nearly three months. We shall see what both are made of in this crucial series for both.

CHARM City Hardball @ Fenway vs the CARMINES an AL East Showdown

August 27, 2013 7:10pm ET
BAL Chen (7-6) vs BOS Doubront (9-6)

August 28, 2013 7:10pm ET
BAL Norris (9-10) vs BOS Lackey (8-11)

August 29, 2013 7:10pm ET
BAL Tillman (14-4) vs BOS Lester (12-7)

Both Teams will have their Aces going in game three if things get out of hand or if its the rubber match. Chen and Doubront have been for the most part consistent and you could argue for the Carmines behind Lester Doubront is the #2. Both Teams know how important this series is because its within the AL East.

Bluedude Sportstalk SPORTS SHORTS Take 129 "LOGO" Edition...JAMISON chasing a CHIP so why LOB CITY?...LAKEshow needs to sign RIP CITY Hamilton...BULLS need SNIPER #NBANews

Free Agent NBA Small Forward Antawn Jamison with a few offers decides to go back to Staples Center and join the New Clip Joint as they are assembling some kind of team. Jamison should fit nice on that 2nd Unit but if he is chasing a Chip does he think the New CLIPjoint gives him the best chance to get that "Fight for Larry" Trophy? The West is getting Top-heavy like the East and the Clips can't get past the Grizz and I will believe it when I see it!

The L.A. Lakers most likely won't have the Black Mamba at the beginning of the season and they need a NBA Bargain Shooting Guard who could still get them double figures and play good solid Team Defense. Well there is ex-Piston and Bull Richard "Rip City" Hamilton who could fit nicely with what the Lakers have on their current roster. Rip could also come off the bench when Kobe gets back late in the season to not the Black Mamba but a Timber Rattler. C'mon Jimmy Buss and Mitch Kupchak...show some boys!

Speaking of needing a Shooting Guard the Bulls need to get them someone to back up now Bulls Starter the "See Red Butler"...Jimmy. There is absolutely nothing out there right now unless the Bulls are looking for the likes of the "King James Stopper" DeShawn Stevenson...or even Daniel "Boobie" Gibson who is R&B Songstress Keisha Cole's Squeeze. The Last option for the Bulls and go to Durham, North Carolina and see if they could get another Duke Player...that always seems to be in the Bulls Mix.

RED LEGS strike with Four early...then HOLLIDAY goes BIG MAC Land and CRAIG sends it to BASEBALL Tonight...REDBIRDS go TRUE BLOOD and draw First Blood...A CUP of JOE in the SHOW Report "Just Another MANIC Monday" #REDBIRDShardball #NLCentralBiz

The Red Legs started off with a four run 2nd inning and the Redbirds decided to play "Big Mac" Land and go "Big Fly " off Red Legs Pitching. Redbirds LF Matt Holliday hits the Target (Big Mac Land) in the bottom half of the 3rd frame for a three-run job to make it 4-3 Red Legs. The Red Legs them move to 5-3 in the 6th then lightning struck Cincy in the bottom half of the 7th. With Ducks all over the Pond and the Redbirds leading the Show with runners in scoring position with one out left Redbirds RBI Leader Allen Craig goes opposite of "Big Mac" Land in left for a Granny. Redbirds Nation touch'em all as that would be the ball game as the Red Legs get a Solo Shot from Jay Bruce in the 8th but too little too late...Redbirds 8 Red Legs 6.

The Red Legs Starter Mike Leake was cruising until that three-run bomb off the Maple of Matt Holliday and he ended up going 6 1/3 giving up five runs. Red Birds Starter Tyler Lyons settled down after the damage was already done as he goes five allowing four runs. The Red Legs Middle Relief let them down in this one as J.J. Hoover gave up the Granny to Craig.

Now the Red Legs are 3 1/2 back of the Redbirds as the Cards move into first place in the NL Central with the Pittsburgh Pirates idle. Those Head to Head Match ups are priceless and Cincy has to put this one in their back pocket.

AMAZINS' Ace MATT HARVEY from "FRANKLIN Street U" Chapel Hill NC is out with a slightly Torn UCL Ligament in Pitching Elbow....Not Good News at all for METS Nation as TOMMY JOHN has not been ruled out...Wow! #AMAZINShardball

Breaking news through numerous media outlets as Mets Ace Matt Harvey is ruled out after an MRI reportedly revealed a Torn UCL Ligament in throwing elbow. Like the Mets needed worse news as the Ace will most likely miss the rest of 2013.

The Mets Ace Matt Harvey has been everything advertised and more. The Rook is  9-5 with a robust 2.27 ERA and has 191 K's with only 31 free passes. Do the math that is a 6 to K to Walk Ratio and that is more than getting it done in the Show. Amazingly enough he has only taken for a Souvenir just seven times and that is the NL Leader tied with Rockies Pitcher Jhoulys Chacin. Harvey also has not missed a Start as he has taken the Hardball 26 of 26 offerings.

The Mets reportedly have not ruled out that dreaded two words of  "Tommy John" Surgery as they will watch closely as Harvey will now rest and see how the healing process goes on its own. The Amazins' luckily have another one in Zack Wheeler and he looks to be finishing the season barring some unforeseen setback or injury.

Swingin' ATHLETICS hit the "D" and the AL Central leading TIGERS...A's #2 in the Wild Card trail the AL West leading RANGERS by 2 1/2 games...A CUP of JOE in the SHOW Report...#ALBusiness

The Oakland Athletics come in trailing in their Division but #2 in the AL Wild Card. If they had to play in the "Fight for October" right now they would be playing the Rays in a one game series and that's not in their favor. The Tigers are six games up on the Tribe as the Tribe haven't succumb to the pressure of being the chaser in the AL Central as they have played real good hardball in the month of August. A four-piece from Comerica and the A's will likely see both Mad Max and Justin an that in itself has to make the A's feel a little uneasy about winning this series.

Swingin' ATHLETICS @ TIGERS...a Four-Piece AL Treat

August 27, 2013 7:08pm ET

OAK TBD vs DET Fister (11-6)

August 29, 2013 1:08pm ET
OAK TBD vs DET Scherzer (19-1)

The A's obviously are proceeding with caution as there are three TBD's as those To Be Determined will face in this order Verlander, Fister, and Scherzer..and good luck with that. May be they are looking for Zito, Hudson, and Mulder circa 2000-2003. What if this was the 2013 ALCS what would the A;s do as Colon would be the #1 but they would most likely face these four from the Tigers with Mad Max going #1.

Is "MAD MAX of COMERICA" the Shoe-In for the 2013 AL CY Young Award and what Company does he Keep?..."Give Me the RIGHTY or LEFTY" with whose chasing MLB's only Mad MAX..."Mad MAX of the TIGERS" Mr. SCHERZER #2K13ALCyYoungAwardRace

Tigers RHP Max Scherzer has had a banner year and there are two things more Items to add to his "Bucket List" for 2K13 as he is going to be a 20-game winner, started in the 2K13 Mid-Summers Classic, and the Tigers are going to make the AL Playoffs. One Item left is 2K13 Fall Classic Champs and the other is the 2K13 AL Cy Young Award. Now to make it interesting whose chasing Scherzer or will get some Votes for their consolation prize?

The 2013 AL Cy Young Race in Order...and it's a "Mad MAX of Comerica" World

1. Max Scherzer #Tigers (19-1) 2.73 ERA 196 SO 42 BB Opp Avg .190

He has been dominant as the Rabngers Yu Darvish is the only other AL Starter where hitters are hitting under the "Mendoza Line" which is under the .200 Mark. With Teammate Justin Verlander having a below average year at best Scherzer has carried that Tigers Staff as he is 18 games over and the Tigers are 24 games over .500 as we go to press.

2. Yu Darvish #Rangers (12-5) 2.68 ERA 225 SO 58 BB Opp Avg .191

Darvish hasn't been in a decision in quite sometime but his "Stuff has Stuff" hence a major league-leading 225 Strike Outs. He is right on Mad Max's Tail with Opponents hitting just .191 against him and he is a Monster on the Bump. What makes him tough he throws five pitches at anytime in the count with all that movement. The Rangers will be a problem with Darvish, Holland, Garza, and the youngster Perez in the "Fight for October" on the Junior Circuit.

3. Bartolo Colon #SwinginAs (14-5) 2.97 ERA 83 SO 25 BB Opp Avg .268

Colon has carried the A's Staff as he hasn't been mowing them down like years past but an excellent ground ball pitcher. He also has been a product when he goes to the Hill the A's Run Support his highest and that's all a Pitcher ask for and that is easier said than done.

4. Matt Moore #Rays (14-3) 3.41 ERA 115 SO 56 BB Opp Avg .212

Moore has been shut down as he is on the 15-Day DL but should be bak here soon. Moore has been pivotal in the rays Run to get back in the Hunt in the AL East when reigning 2012 AL Cy Young Winner David Price was out some 8 weeks. Moore has opponents hitting only .212 against him in 2013.

5. Felix Hernandez #Ms (12-7) 2.63 ERA 192 SO 39 BB Opp Avg .237

Kid Felix has been a victim of poor run support as he has been the same Kid mowing them down, eating innings like PAC-man, and was worth every penny of that ginormous contract he received Spring 2013. His partner in crime from Japan Iwakuma has been really good as well. If the M's can get that youth movement going they have the Arms to get it done.

Bluedude Sportstalk FRONT LINE August 26, 2013 with a "Pick up your PHONE ...you know who it is and could you please bring your PLAY BOOK"....SUNDAY'S Notable NFL Cuts...Not shocking to say the least #NFLRosterCutsTo75

Teams have to be careful as the Fish will be biting and you will pick up  Fish or two but is it the Waiver-Line Player you ant. The Rosters are getting down to that dreaded 53-Man Roster and the Cuts this past weekend have some huge Names or has beens on it. The Bluedude took a closer look and will give you his Top Players cut who were Top Flight Picks or who have had long-tenured productive careers and now it might be over.

5. WR Josh Cribbs #Silver&Black

7. LB Stevenson Sylvester #MenOfSTeel

8. WR Donte' Stallworth #HTTR

9. SS Tom Zbikowski #DaBears

10. FS Chris Hope #RestoreTheRoar

McKnight getting cut might be a good move as he can play Jack and jump off the "Titanic"...he has a shot to get picked up. WR Braylon Edwards was done when they drafted him and picking him up again shows you how desperate the Jets are.

QB Harrell lost the Battle to Vince Young and once again it is Hookem' Horns > Red Raiders in that battle...

Former Seattle Seahawks 1st rounder Aaron Curry of Wake Forest has been arguably the biggest bust in the last four years. He can't stick anywhere with anybody and this maybe it for him on any NFL Roster.

Cribbs after all them concussions was a long-shot and they had him on kick-offs as he looked like a shell of his former self. I will tell you this about three to four years ago he played KR/PR/WR/RB/QB fro the Dawg Pound and he was their best player at them Positions...real talk!

Phillips gets cut and Giants Safety Stevie Brown tears an ACL now how 'bout that. Phillips has one major hurdle can he pass a Physical as his Knee are turning for the worse...pass him Doc...Kenny has to eat!

Sylvester had some promise coming out of "Runnin' Utes U" but the Steelers Stack'em, Rack'em, and Pack'em in the 6'4" 250 el bees worth of Violent Type and it was a numbers game.

Stallworth didn't even dress in any of the "Skins Pre Season Games and why does Shanahan always pick up a guy he knows he is going to cut...he did the Great HOF Jerry Rice like that in Denver when he should have told Rice it was over...#Gratification #Arrogance

Zbikowski just couldn't make any hay as he rarely got on the field as the Buffalo Grove, Illinois Native was far on the Depth Chart with Chris Conte and Major Wright holding down those Safety Slots and they are young.

Hope the former 'Noles All-American Safety and Steeler and Titan was trying to get one of those Lions Roster Slots but they revamped that Secondary and he had to go. Likely done but a good solid career for the South Carolina born Safety.

Think those names were big wait until you see that "Down to 53-Man Roster" Cut...it will be a whose who among..What Happened to him!

RED LEGS hit BASEBALL Town USA and the 1st place REDBIRDS tied with the BUCCOS in the NL CENTRAL for a Three-Piece...If you need to make up quick ground it's HEAD 2 HEAD Cincy...A CUP of JOE in the SHOW Report "NL Central Clash of the TITANS" #CINCYhardball #theLOUhardball

The Red Legs come off losing two of three in Beer Town USA to the Beer Makers the Brew Crew as they still hold down the NL Wild Card's #2 slot. The Red Legs also trail the NL Central Leading Redbirds and Buccos by just 2 1/2 games as the plot thickens with a "Fight for October" Atmosphere in this three-piece classic in the Lou.

The Redbirds come off of nearly closing the Tomahawk Shop 404 for Business Thursday through Sunday as the Braves get Sundays Game to avoid the sweep. The Redbirds now are tied with the Buccos and the Pressure Gaskets are at an all-time high for the 2013 Season. Who will leave this series with their Check Engine Light or worst case scenario Service Engine Soon?

CIN Latos (13-4) vs STL Kelly (5-3)

August 28, 2013 8:15pm ET

The Red Legs lose Pitcher Cingrani with Back Spasms but they will have that Latter "L" going in Games 1 and 2 and that is what the MLB Doctors ordered for the Red Legs. The Cards on the other hand will throw Lyons but Kelly has been impressive of late and Ace and 2013 NL Cy Young Candidate Adam Wainright in Game 3 and if the Redbirds get in trouble in one and two it should be comforting to think Wainright can get #3.

Steelers also put OL Justin Cheadle and CB DeMarcus Van Dyke on the Waived/Injured List....also they place 2013 7th round pick Nick Williams from Samford (Birmingham) on the Reserved/Injured List...

Unfortunately there will be more as Batch and Sylvester were big contributors in Special Teams...

the CARMINES ride PEAVY for a Complete Job and hammer DODGERS Pitching to win Two of Three in CHAVEZ Ravine..."GET AWAY" Day as the BO SOX are 1st in AL EAST #FenwayHardball

The L.A. Dodgers after winning 2-0 on Friday Night they had everything moving in the right direction until the Carmines do what no one has done to the "Boys in Blue in 2 1/2 months...take a series from the Dodgers.

Behind a Complete Job from Jake Peavy as he allows one run on three hits as he walks one and strikes out five. Peavy showed the Carmines and the MLB World he has the stuff to get past the 6th inning. Dodgers Starter Chris Capuano was chased after five as the Carmines put three runs on six hits and Reliever Chris Withrow who gave up three hits and three runs in just two innings. For the first time in awhile the Dodgers have a little adversity and how will they deal with it?

The Carmines get Three Bombs from Jarrod Saltalamacchia, Mike Napoli, and Shane Victorino. Napoli and Pedroia led the Sox Offense with a combined 5 for 8 with one HR, three runs, and four ribbies. The Sox move ahead of the Rays in the AL East by a game. The Dodgers are in the clear in the NL West but chasing the Seniors Circuit's best record.

Will the Carmines and Dodger go Classic 2K13 Fall CLassic and would that be must-see T.V.

Bronx BOMBERS avoid the BROOM n DUST Pan in TAMPA as the "FONZ" and CANO Strike...."GET AWAY" Day YANKS survive RAYS #BronxZooHardball #RaysHardball

The New York Yankees reach back and show some "Valentine" and get Sunday's Game as it took extras to do it. Starter Nova for the Bombers and Cobb for the Rays held their end of the bargain up as they turned it over too the Pens as the Yanks strike in the top half of the 11th.

Behind a game-winning Sac Fly by Yanks CF Curtis Granderson and the "Fonz" Alfonso Soriano going circa 2000 the Yankees pull it out in the 11th by the score of 3-2. Soriano went 2 for 5 with a runs scored and a steal his first since 2000...Lol! The Rays Offense came from Star Hot Corner Evan Longoria who was 2 for 5 with two ribbies and his 28th Long Ball off of Nova in the 6th.

Back to the hill as Ivan Nova went 6 2/3 innings allowing six hits and two runs as it could have been worse as he also handed out six free passes. Alex Cobb of the Rays also matched Nova going 5 2/3 innings giving up two runs on seven hits as he walked three and struck out five. In his last appearance barring a run in the "Fight form October" Mo Rivera gets Save #38 and that one of a kind Sand Sculpture of himself from the Rays.

The Bombers are 6 1/2 out in the AL East but they are only 3 1/2 off the A's for that #2 Wild Card which appears at this point way more realistic for the Bombers to get. The Rays fall behind the Carmines as they have yet to play the Dodgers in their Rubber Match on ESPN's Sunday Night Baseball.  Rays lead the Wild Card by 2 1/2 over the A's.

the TOMAHAWK Shop 404 avoids floating down the MISSISSIPPI at the LEATHER and MAPLE of the REDBIRDS...MINOR does his work for ATL on the HILL...and BRAVES get to CARDS Starter LYNN..."GET AWAY" Day as the BRAVES are elated to be leaving BASEBALL Town USA #ATLhardball

The Atlanta Braves know they needed one just in case they have to come back in New Busch and get a game or two. Braves Pitcher Mike Minor joined forces with that Braves Line Up to become the Tomahawk Shop 404 once again and the 1st time in the Lou in this 4-piece set as the Braves win 5-2. Minor went seven giving up just one run and he allowed six hits and struck out two. The Redbirds Hitters were a bit off on Minor who had all his pitches going hence he only walked one.

The Cards Starter and thirteen game winner Lance Lynn was touched up as the Braves put three runs up on Lynn and the Cards in the first two innings. Braves CF Jordan Schafer and Hot Corner Elliot Johnson led the Braves out of the lead-off and #2 hole as they combined for 4 hits, two runs, and two RBI's. Freeman and Justin Upton combined to 0 for 7 behind them. The Redbirds get an RBI each from Craig (Cards 2013 RBI Leader) an Holliday.

The Braves keep their double-digit lead in the NL East but lose ground on having the best record in the NL as the Pirates and are just 1 1/2 games back for that honor. The Redbirds are 1/2 back of the Pirates as the Buccos are playing the Gigantes as we speak. They are also #1 in the NL Wild Card with the Red Legs the #2 Wild Card and 2 1/2 games back of the Cards.

VIKINGS @ 49ERS...A QB DRIVEN League "Sunday Night Action" takes us to the STICK for #SKOLnation and QB PONDER vs #QUEST4Six and QB KAP...VIKES working on AIR Attack...9ERS working on ever-changing Wide Outs #NFLPreSeasonWk3

The Minnesota Vikings already know what their Meal Ticket is but they need to add an appetizer and some sides to the Twin Cities Avenger #28. QB Christian Ponder will have to take even more pressure off A.P. as WR/KR/PR/NB Percy Land USA Harvin is gone to the Hawks Nest 206. It won't be all up to Ponder but he will have to make plays in the Vertical Passing Game.

The 49ers do not have those kind of issues as it's not whose throwing the Pigskin but who will be catching it. TE Vernon Davis and newly-acquired WR Anquan Boldin will be there in the end as they will be the focus for every "D" the 9ers play in the Passing Game. Lead Man Harbaugh has to figure out where the other WR or the #3 WR is.

What to look for from #SKOLnation

How will Ponder handle the 49ers "D" as they will come out extremely aggressive and Ponder and the gang need to be ready.

RB Toby Gerhardt is #2 on the Depth Chart at Running Back and the Vikings will need him in the long run.

Wide Outs Greg Jennings and Jerome Simpson are a nice 1-2 punch but it's all about 2013 1st Rounder WR Cordarrelle Patteron as the Vikes need to get him  the Pigskin in space as he is a "YAC" Monster.

The O-Line has to hold up as Kalil and Loadholt are a nice Tackle Duo to keep Ponder upright. The 9ers will be coming after both and we will see how they hold up.

Watch 2013 1st round CB Xavier Rhodes from the FSU 'Noles...he is a good one..

Defensively the Vikes will be better than in 2012 with the emergence of Backer Erin Henderson and FS Harrison Smith. They and the Vikes Front along with Jared Allen will be tested against that Mammoth 9ers O-Line led by Staley, Iupati, and Davis.

What to look for from #Quest4Six

How does the other WRs look as they try to incorporate WR Jonathan Baldwin...

Did RB LaMichael James win the 2nd Back in the Rotation behind Gore?

Is 2013 4th round pick Quinton Patton a legit #2 WR as he comes in on the Depth Chart as the #2?

How is 2013 1st rounder in FS Eric Reid holding up and the Vikes have to go right at him....

OLB Aldon Smith says he can get 30 Red Jersey Collections in 2013 and AVP will breakout in the 4th quarter of this game between the Vikes and 9ers. Does A-Smith even realize he goes as his Twin goes in DT Justin Smith!

Game Time August 25, 2013 at 8pm ET on NBC

TIGERS finish the SWEEP in Citi Field as it was MIGGY at the Dish and PORCELLO on the BUMP...METS get outscored 20-4 in the Three-Game Set..."GET AWAY" Day...AMAZINS' wanna get away? #TIGERShardball

The Detroit Tigers have way bigger fish to fry it just so happened the Amazins' were on the schedule through 162 game trek and unfortunately for them..in the way. The Tigers outscore the Mets 20-4 in the three-game set and Miggy Cabrera and that Tigers Line Up did some serious damage today.

Behind a Tigers RHP Rick Porcello's seven innings of work allowing three runs on four hits as one hit left the premises the Tigers rolled to a 11-3 "Get Away" Day "W" as they continue to put pressure on the 2nd place in the AL Central Tribe of C-Town. The Tigers put just four runs on Mets Starter Dillon Gee but it was the 9th frame where things went haywire for the Mets.

The Tigers put up a crooked seven in that frame as the game was a tight one at 4-3 entering the 9th. It was Mets Reliever LaTroy Hawkins who was lit up as he pitched 1/3 of an inning allowing five runs on four hits before the Tigers chased him to the showers. Tigers Hot Corner and reigning AL Triple Crown Winner Miggy Cabrera led then onslaught with a two-run bomb in the first as he went 3 for 4 scoring two and knocking in two. Tigers LF Andy Dirks led the Tigers with three ribbies including a Solo Bomb in the 6th off  Gee.

The Tigers now leave NYC with a six game lead as the Tribe beat the Twinkies. They also sat right in the heap for the AL's Best Record as the Rangers, Red Sox, Rays, and Tigers are all at the top locked up for the Junior Circuit's Best W-L.

SAINTS @ TEXANS....A QB DRIVEN LEAGUE "Sunday Action"...#GeauxSAINTS travel to Harris County TEXAS to take on #BULLSonParade and AREA 99...SAINTS "D" a work in progress...TEXANS FOSTER trying to get ready for Week 1...#NFLPreSeasonWk3

The New Orleans Saints have it all working on Offense with Lead Man Sean Payton back into the fold as the Saints will score but it will be on the defense and new D-Coordinator Rob Ryan. The Texans have to take that next step as they have all the right pieces including Safety Ed, Edd, and Eddy Reed on the Back End. Is Texans QB Matt Schaub the man take to #BullsOnParade to the Mountain Top?

What to look for from #WhoDat

The Saints have a few injured WRs but they still look the part as Colston and Moore have quality reinforcements in Bloodline Nick Toon (son of former Jet WR and Badger Al Toon) and 2013 Draft Pick Kenny Stills .

Saints Run Game has to be key as they have that three-headed monster in Thomas, Ingram, and Sproles...

"Big Red of NOLA" is back in Saints TE Jimmy Graham and QB Brees has to be thinking we will score 30 ppg...

The O-Line is solid and they must keep Brees upright and they will like they have in the past....

2013 Top Pick Safety Kenny Vaccaro is a monster as they need to get him to see other Teams as he was dialing it up in practice hitting Saints.

The Defensive Front is a huge cause for concern and we will see what the Saints do as they need to improve in that category...

CB Keenan Lewis is a nice pick up from the Steelers and they re-sign SS Harper to get back with FS Jenkins as SS Jim Leonhard is a quality pick up as well from the Broncos.

What to look for from #BullsOnParade

The Texans need RB Arian Foster healthy first and foremost...

Is 2013 Top Pick WR DeAnde Hopkins of Clemson the Answer to play Robin to the Texans Batman in Dre Johnson 305?

That Texans "D" should be better with LB Cushing looking 100%...

The Texans on paper look a strong as anyone in the AFC and this could be the year as they need their Clutch Players to be Clutch when Clutch calls like.....Ed Reed, Area 99, Schaub, Foster, Cushing, Dre 305, Manning, Jon Joseph, and that O-Line.

Game Time August 25, 2013 at 4pm ET on Fox

"SKY WATCH" Report...the EAST won't have to DREAM coming through the CHICAGO SKY Episode...DELLE DONNE leads all scorers with 25 as the SKY go to ATL and put an "L" on the Home Folks 67-56 #SKYNation #SKYgang #DelleDonneGang #FowlesGang

The WNBA East has a clear path and that path will run right through Chi City as the Chicago if they has any doubters put them to rest in Fulton County and the Highlight Factory 404 tonight. The Sky go into Atlanta and put a 67-56 beat down on the Defending WNBA Champion Atlanta Dream and the Sky has officially fallen in the East.

Behind another big time performance from Sky Rook Wing Forward Elena Delle Donne (25 pts and pictured right) the Sky led from the jump as the Dream had no answer all night long. The Sky jumped out to a 18-12 first frame then led at the Break 35-26 as the Dream closed the 3rd frame 15-12 but that wasn't nearly enough. The Sky then roll the credits in the Highlight Factory 404 with a 20-15 last frame as Sky Forward Swin Cash added 12 points and seven rebounds with Sylvia Fowles chipping in with 10 points and thirteen rebounds.

It wasn't just the Sky front line as it has been the guard play between the Duo of Epiphany Prince and Courtney Vandersloot. They combined for a 16 points, eleven rebounds, and ten helpers night and that clearly has been the edge in the Sky's latest run to Team History. Dream Stars Angel McCoughtry and Erica de Souza did their part as Angel led the Dream with 20 points and Brazil's de Souza added 12 points and sixteen boards.

The Sky now look to chase down the WNBA's Best Overall record as they are currently a 1/2 game off the Minnesota Lynx for that honor with the L.A. Sparks a close third at 18-8. The Sky, Lynx, and Sparks have all clinched a slot in the 2013 Playoffs.

Next up the Sky will host the Dream on Saturday August 31st in Chi-City at 7pm CT.
